  • Text way too small

    In the last couple of years my eyesight has gotten a little worse, so even with reading glasses I still have to enlarge the text to at least 125%. And that's on 90 % of the articles that I read. Please add something to the settings that will remember my 125% setting on all the articles so I don't have to adjust each and every one. Thank you so much.

  • New phone, one- sided algorithm

    It was pretty good and adapted to where I was getting, for the most part, central news feed sources and/ or left and right mix. New phone and Google base algorithm unabashedly exposed. Wouldn’t carry over my interests, apparently. It’s Far left only. If you’re close minded and on the left (and not just liberal), this is for you.

  • Serves corporate PR, difficult to train.

    Corporate press releases are not news. They don't come from news sites. Why does Google News serve them? It's also hard to train. Mine will never stop serving me sports even though I will never ever read a sports article.

  • Only paywalls and popup ads

    I've used Google news on the web for years with rarely a problem. I installed this app just now and all 10 of the 1st "breaking news" articles were 100% unreadable. Each was blocked by paywalls and/or popup ads that covered all of the content. In over 40 years of software engineering, I haven't seen an app this bad on mobile devices, PCs, or even mainframe ROFLMAO. Unbelievable.

  • Nothing but Clickbait Trash

    This app is nothing but clickbait garbage. Every headline is designed to trick you into tapping, and none of the stories deliver real substance. Even worse, the app completely ignores personal content preferences—it keeps flooding the feed with junk I’ve already said I don’t want to see. If you value actual news and control over your feed, avoid this app at all costs.

    Why is it only showing 10-15 stories? For you, global, US, local, each only have 10-15. Deleting and reinstalling, etc, no change.

  • News Feed and Widget are Atrocious

    I picked this up switching from a Samsung to an iPhone so I could replicate my hand-tailored news feed from the News section accessed by swiping left from the home screen on Android. What I found was that the widget is both incompatible with the new UI features on iPhone like the “Clear” design which makes it a blank white square, alongside the widget purposefully not displaying any of your tailored news and instead pushing only their paid-for shill stories. Even using the app, only the garbage shill stories are available at the top of the “For You” section and you have to scroll past at least 6-8 chunks of irrelevant junk just to get to the stuff that’s actually useful. Terrible app and terrible business practices, find something better that doesn’t shove under-the-table paid advertising in your face all day.

    Long time fan until google news started adding white house .gov press releases / propaganda in its news feed. It’s not news! Stop kissing trumps and his administrations backside.

  • Was OK but now it’s very irritating and unreliable

    Too many can not load content errors when you’re halfway through an article. Too many pop ups. Too many redirects. Sometimes after being redirected you can’t get out of the ad and have to close the app start over. Then sometimes the article you were reading no longer appears. I can’t take the aggravation anymore and am off loading the app.
