Just installed Google fiber and I have never had worse experience on the app in any other app than Google fiber. It doesn’t work the majority of the time. I can’t get anything done because it will not update the information, constant errors. This is BS

I’m on my third day trying to connect to the wireless internet. I’ve talked to the techs multiple times. They keep escalating the issue. We still cannot turn on our WiFi because of what they are calling an app issue on their end.

As others have said, getting this service set up is terrible. I had my first appointment cancelled without explanation, and when I contacted them they didn’t know what happened but had to have me reschedule for a whole week later. And yet a technician still came on the original date without knowing that the outside work had not been done. So GFiber doesn’t even communicate internally it seems. And when I rescheduled I never got a confirmation so I reached out to confirm and they said they didn’t have me on the schedule. Something with the scheduling system is messed up. Also the app has inconsistent information. One page will tell you the install will take 1 hour, while another will say 2 hours. I like Google products and was excited to be eligible for their internet service but so far I am not impressed.

Every person I’ve talked talked to in person or on the phone has been great. I am giving a one start because of the lack of communication and the difficulty to get to a person through the automated system. I set up to have internet two weeks ago and my first appointment was canceled with no reason as to why and very little notice. When a technician finally came to my house he was able to give me an immediate reason and was great and personable, but being in the dark for a full to weeks with no internet was extremely frustrating. I did attempt to use there customer help services, but the AI generated assistance created more confusion and very little help and when it came down to getting a person, it said hold on for a moment I have a person right with you and then never connected me. After I finally my router installed the servers had some sort of error and it all wouldn’t connect to the internet. So I was stuck waiting again. This morning it finally displayed that it was fixed but I received no phone call which I was informed I would when it was ready to be set up. I then tried calling again and the AI assistant asked for all this information. Finally connected me to a representative and they just all the same questions again. I’m so irritated with AI generated assistance when it does literally nothing to assist.

Where do I start??! This app is so broken and nothing works. Since getting it weeks ago, I’ve yet to be able to view/manage devices, I get an error everytime that “something went wrong”. The extender details are out of date and won’t update correctly. Every click takes at least 10 seconds. Aside from setting network names and password, the app provides no information or control of the network

C’mom Google. Do better than this poor excuse for a management app. You bricked one of my PC’s Wi-Fi access because you disabled scheduling without warning and without opportunity to clear the schedule. This latest app update doesn’t show any of my network devices. Every menu or page in the app is either incredibly slow or non-functional. With this and Google Home, please stop perpetuating en$hitification.

The new app update says it cannot locate my account but I've had an account for years. This is what happens when they let AI and Hindus create all the code for an App. GFiber support was worthless and had no idea how to support the App.
  • Can't sign in.

The "sign in" button doesn't do anything, so you can't use the app.
  • Disappointing Compared to Google Home App

I recently had to switch to the GFiber App after moving into a new house where the internet setup came with a new router that can only be managed through GFiber. Unfortunately, this app feels like a major downgrade from the Google Home App I used before. GFiber lacks essential features such as parental controls, which I relied on heavily in Google Home. The only available control option is “Pause,” and even that has been suspended for the past few days with no explanation. As it stands now, the app is basically useless for managing my home network. I really hope Google brings back the flexibility and smart management options from Google Home or updates GFiber to be at least on par with what users had before.
