Description

Google Authenticator adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts by adding a second step of verification when you sign in. This means that in addition to your password, you'll also need to enter a code that is generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone. The verification code can be generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone, even if you don't have a network or cellular connection. • Sync your Authenticator codes to your Google Account and across your devices. This way, you can always access them even if you lose your phone. • Set up your Authenticator accounts automatically with a QR code. This is quick and easy, and it helps to ensure that your codes are set up correctly. • Support for multiple accounts. You can use the Authenticator app to manage multiple accounts, so you don't have to switch between apps every time you need to sign in. • Support for time-based and counter-based code generation. You can choose the type of code generation that best suits your needs. • Transfer accounts between devices with a QR code. This is a convenient way to move your accounts to a new device. To use Google Authenticator with Google, you need to enable 2-Step Verification on your Google Account. To get started visit http://www.google.com/2step

I was trying to switch my Google account over to my iPhone. I am supposed to scan a QR code that kept coming to the phone. How can I scan a QR code on the object I am holding. Then tried a different method none of them work I ended up skipping the whole process and deleted the app.

There is no time sync option on the Google Authenticator app, codes never work, useless “safety tool”

I was keeping all my codes in one single account and today I realized Google (or someone else) deleted all the codes I have without my permission now I’m having trouble accessing almost all accounts I have thanks Google and their remarkable employees.
  • Needs to use passcode before opening

Apple password app will use the passcode on your phone before allowing access to those passwords. Google app needs to do the same. For those not wanting to allow facial recognition to open their phone (which can prevent access by border agents, etc.) Google authenticator app needs to require the phone passcode before showing the codes you have stored. Please fix this
  • Google will not help you!

I cannot stress this enough. This app works really well and it’s a good way to keep all your accounts safe. These keys will not upload to your Google account to transfer between new devices like if you get a new phone. Unless you check the cloud update Box. If you lose the old device without transferring all of your new stuff from the Authenticator onto the new device before getting rid of it you are practically screwed and have to start all over again. So if you use this, make quadruplet sure. You have every back up in place if you lose the authenticator access on your phone. I would also like to add that Google will not help you. They do not have a health center anymore that has real people that work for Google helping you. They will leave you high and dry. Just keep in mind before using.
