  • Potential is there but I need developers to care

    $18.99 for a membership, that includes the most clunky music streaming app I’ve ever used. I keep a running list of songs I like. However, YT Music inserts the song anywhere it wants on a list of over 1,000 songs. When I go back to quick reference songs they’re unfindable without a thorough search. Why not add them in ascending order based on when they were saved? Added a shortcut to my iPhone screen so I can hop in and out. Instead of opening the app where I was, it starts the playlist, song, podcast over completely. Hooked to a Bluetooth device YT Music will randomly choose to never pause. To stop whatever is playing you have to close the app. Add to queue and Play Next are dope features. Except, if I’m not playing a playlist or chosen album my queue is the currently playing song and if I add to it that selected song should be next. If I put together queued songs and accidentally select a song not in the queue while searching it deletes the whole queue instead of playing immediately and leaving the other songs in their current position. Too many to name. Let’s start 2026 off with a big update. Huge fan

    Very touchy/slidey-centred UI update makes the app much more difficult to interact with, like the designers insisted on having cake and eating it too - it’s messy. A short freeze (1.5-2 second) on the lock screen UI after locking the phone would be appreciated too - right now I lock my phone and it’s too easy to switch songs.

    The new experiment YouTube music is conducting, “Beyond the Beat,” is disruptive and is not in accordance with what paid subscribers have paid for. It’s a feature that interrupts play from one song to another with two DJ’s talking about the songs. It’s worse than listening to terrestrial radio. Paid subscribers have paid for a service that doesn’t include the negative aspects of over-the-air radio, and now it’s being interjected as a “feature”. To fix the problem, I was told I could “pause the feature for a day.” That’s a ridiculous non-solution.

  • Some rough edges on playlists

    Will sometimes refuse to download songs that I’ve added to a playlist until I undownload/redownlod the entire thing. Occasionally even removes songs I already have downloaded. Otherwise does its job (play music) very well.

    Over all decent, not happy with the age verification prevents me from listening to some songs ,app glitches sometimes and I have to close the app to get it to work again ,good algorithm

    YouTube Music is really an amazing App but I just wish it’ll be a better way to organize my music that I save to my playlists and I think it's no point of having fan or AI songs cause it gets taken away and I think if the app have Light Mode it'll bring out the app💯

    i get premium because of amex, so i switched over to yt music reluctantly at first. but this is genuinely my favorite music app, i’ve discovered so many great songs because it has such an amazing algorithm. I also really enjoy being able to comment and speak your mind under most songs, and also that when you’re starting a mix there’s an endless amount of new songs that’ll play in your queue. please never change
