  • What happened to landscape mode?

I've loved this app and have used it for many years. When I heard about the 3.0 update I was excited for the new version… Only to discover there is no landscape mode/perspective, only portrait. I use snapseed on my iPad Pro… Or I should say I used to, as it's no good to me any longer. Please update!

Insists on full photo library access. Previous versions allowed for limited access. I’m not about to give Google, one of the creepiest companies on the planet, full photo access. Not now, not later, not ever. I had this app on my phone for years, but this new version has just been deleted permanently. Great while it lasted.

An app that now needs full access to my photos does not stay on my iPhone. No thanks. Deleted.

I've been using this app since it cost $5 (before Google bought it). I've been using it ever since. This new update sure changes the look. Luckily all the previous features are all there. Might take some getting used to, but I think it will remain my primary editor. Update: I got used to the new look rather quickly and am enjoying it. Very powerful but has kept a simple interface.

My eys hurts when I see this photos moving quickly animation every time I open this app now. Please stop the animation. It’s very annoying.

Unfortunately the most recent update requires you to share your entire library with the app instead of being able to partially share, which was previously available. If I was cynical, I’d say it’s because Google needs more data for machine learning and updating Snapseed to harvest your entire library is part of that mission.
  • Who designed the new version?!

As a Snapseed user since it was originally launched (~15 years ago?!), the new redesign is frustrating. The developers reversed the direction for edits; ie if you want to increase contrast now you swipe left when previously it’s always been swipe right. There’s no way to change this setting. The export button is in the top right corner rather than the bottom left. The top corners are arguably the least ergonomic locations to put anything due to the average reach of the thumb. The launch animation? Completely pointless. Just launch the app so I can edit! Why are edited/imported images saved on the landing page? Yes, you can delete them but only one by one. If you’re going to force these images to be stored on the app taking up more space at least allow the option for ‘delete all’. I will acknowledge that being able to add/rearrange a few commonly used editing tools is extremely handy and hopefully we’ll see the ability to save more than 4 in a future update. Speaking of which, why not allow the option to save a ‘look’? The app has always allowed users to quickly apply the ‘last look’ to images, but it would always be nice to create/save/apply your own recipes for even quicker edits. Really hope they allow users to change the direction of edit to match the old app. With the current layout I’m not sure where they’d relocate the export button but GD the top right corner is the worst position
