The text size when composing a message was greatly reduced in the latest version. It’s too small

I’ve had this app for a few months now and very recently I’ve gotten this bug where new messages are not showing up. They will appear in my Notification Center and I can see the message preview but when I go into the app they are not in my inbox or message thread. The app itself will also show me that I have a new notification but the message is still not there. If I delete the app and reinstall it fixes it temporarily but it keeps happening. I use this app for my work number so it’s really concerning that I may be missing out on new clients messages because I can’t see them.

Be aware if you use Google Voice, your account will be suspended if you send it too many text messages or have too many calls. Their “AI” system will flag your account and completely suspend your account for no reason!!
  • Relentless spam

The app is great except for the fact that since the first day I got it I have been incessantly dealing with spam calls. The frequency has decreased over time as I’ve marked every call as spam but it’s absolutely ridiculous.

If it worked reliably and performed well, this would be a killer app. Here are the issues with it: 1. Performance of the app isn’t great. When I get a new message and want to refresh my messages inbox, it just takes forever to refresh. 2. For an app made by Google, the premier search company, the search features of this app are frankly awful. Hit or miss at best, and when you get the search results, it struggles to take you to the portion of the chat where the search result was found. 3. Every so often, the system will choose not to deliver messages to me. To be fair, this doesn’t happen that often, but a messaging service needs to be darned near perfect. 4. Some phone carriers seem to have problems with interoperability with Google Voice. Their messages simply don’t reach me very often. 5. The spam filter in the app is sometimes hyperactive and doesn’t deliver messages which are clearly not spam. 6. The lack of international texting capability is a serious problem. I wish they would offer a paid version which allowed international texting. 7. RCS support doesn’t seem to be coming to Google Voice anytime soon.

The app keeps buffering and getting stuck and I have to close the whole app multiple times for it to work. Way too many glitches now. Please fix.
  • Outgoing font suddenly too small

The latest update has caused the outgoing font size to be too small. There appears to be no remedy to make it normal size again
  • Huge slowdowns with latest update

Not sure what happened, but I’ve never seen the app so laggy. Opening threads, the UI freezes completely for at least 6 seconds, and is still extremely slow after that. Really unacceptable especially since I’m on a phone released this year (iPhone 16e). I can’t really text anyone!

I love having the ability to have a second number FOR FREE, and I am grateful that Google made this possible. The app sadly does not completely work for me. I use the app to communicate with people I haven't met in person as I'm not comfortable giving out my real number to strangers. They told me they don't get notifications half the time I send them a message. So I had to eventually give them my real number because the failed notifications was too inconvenient.
