  • Incredibly difficult to delete from Google photos and keep on phone

Super difficult to delete pictures from Google photos and keep them on Apple. There’s no clear option for unsyncing Apple and Google, and I deleted the app before and didn’t sync photos when I got it back, then I got it back and accidentally hit accept. Since then, I haven’t been able to use my email or create new documents due to Google photos taking up too much space, when I already have an iCloud+ subscription for $1. Google also first advertised this app as unlimited storage, but I literally can’t use my email because every time I delete a Google photo it also deletes from my phone. What is the point of an external app if it doesn’t act externally? Every option they make is just buying more storage, everyone I’ve talked to with the same problem has either bought it or made a new email. Least favorite app interaction ever by far.

When I select 10 photos to back up it’s doing only one and I need to back up one by one. That’s the problem last 2 years for sure
  • One dumb feature

This is an amazing service but it will constantly flag something for attention. Give you that app alert that you need to address one thing. Then it becomes a game of hide and go seek to find which menu it’s in and don’t worry nothing is clearly labeled what needs attention. Such a dumb thing.

Absolutely useless. Website forced me to download this to use Google Photos on my device and it doesn’t even work. Won’t let me do anything without accessing my current device’s photos, but I just wanted to view what was already backed up.

Every time I open up google photos and start scrolling through my saved pictures, halfway through it decides to crash. Is there a way to make it not crash at all?
  • NEVER AGAIN—Deleted

I downloaded the Google Photos app into my iPhone to make seeing a long video from a friend easier to fast forward through. I opted to NOT backup my current photos, but Google grabbed them anyway, and if I deleted anything from the Google app, IT DELETED THEM FROM EVERYWHERE ELSE, TOO. It wasn’t even supposed to have backed them up! I had to go into my iPhone settings and turn off photo access. Now I can’t see any photos, including the Google photos that others have sent. And when you delete the app, it deletes ALL data, apparently including the ones that were received through Google drive, so once you download it, you are trapped: delete it, and you might lose everything. NEVER AGAIN.
  • Going downhill

Since recent update, not all of my downloads will automatically transfer over to GP... about 30% don't. When using the app itself, items that I've archived pop right back out again. I re-archive them...they pop right back out again. And the date being shown was December 1969...the pix were taken in April 2021. So many bugs and glitches now rendering this app useless at the moment.

When it doesn’t crash, it’s absurdly slow, searching is nigh useless, and you can’t peruse images (just tiny thumbnails).
