  • Defaults to backing up all my iPhone photos

I’m very annoyed because I didn’t realize that this app had somehow defaulted to backing up all of my iPhone photos inside Google photos. I’m confident I didn’t turn on that setting myself. Because of the backups, I ran out of room on my Google account and stopped receiving emails. After realizing that the Google photos backup was the issue I went to delete all the photos in Google photos not realizing that this meant that photos would also be deleted off of my iPhone. I really panicked before retrieving 2 years of photos from the trash and I am still trying to figure out how to delete photos off of Google photos without deleting them from my iPhone. This is super frustrating, not a good look Google!!

It is way overly complicated to download photos from a shared album. Also the storage is always full and I will delete multiple GBs and it will still be full. It is difficult to delete something on google photos but not my iCloud. Also you can’t use the app by only using select photos so then your only option is to buy their extra storage. Every time I use this app it is insanely frustrating.

I hate that social media platforms don’t allow you to choose photos from Google Photos to upload. This is one of my BIGGEST pet peeves & I don’t understand why this hasn’t changed? We have to find the photos we want on Google photos, download them, post it, then go back to regular photos to delete them so we don’t have duplicates in our Google photos. It’s so annoying & such a hassle. Obvious platforms that I and sure a lot of others would like to have Google photos accessible would be TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and even photo editing apps like Instasize, Adobe, etc!

Do not backup photos on google photos. I have maxed my storage causing a subscription to be paid. And no I am not able to delete photos from google photos or they will be removed from my iPhone as well.

Photos on the iPad & MacBook Pro can’t hold much on it.
  • Unable to scroll down my albums list

They also got rid of the archive button. Replace the new create button with archive. It glitches sometimes and when I scroll down to choose an album to add a photo/video to, it doesn't let me scroll down or it does a bit and then just keeps going back up to the top of my albums list
