  • the worst developer experience of any company

    The signup process for an Apple Developer account is legendarily bad. Expect to need to make actual phone calls to support to get anything done, like it's 2001 still. You'll get locked out and be unable to sign up if one thing goes wrong (for me, it did not send the code to my email address), but there are many other problems, just search online. Come on, Apple, fix this already.

  • Video player needs improvements

    The video player really needs an update to support basic playback controls, like: • Clicking anywhere on the video to play/pause • Using the left/right arrow keys to skip back or forward 15 seconds • Using the keyboard play/pause key—right now, pressing it actually opens Apple Music. These are standard conventions in most video players and would make watching sessions a lot smoother.

  • Downloaded videos won’t play if cellular data permission is turned off

    App version 10.8.3 running on an iPhone 16 Pro Max with iOS 18.6.2. I downloaded a bunch of videos over wifi, to watch later. Later, I tried to watch them when I was out and about, and got this error message: Use cellular data for streaming? To stream videos when you aren't connected to Wi-Fi, turn on Streaming in the Cellular Data section. You can change this in Settings > Apps > Developer. If a video is downloaded, it should be playable regardless of the cellular data permissions setting.

  • Enrollment Process Too Difficult

    The process of “scanning” in my id for enrollment was not great. It would have been easier to allow me to take a photo and upload that rather than attempt to scan it using the camera on my computer or my phone. I hoped using the camera on my phone would be better, but sadly, the app was opinionated regarding which orientation I could use - then when I was finally ready to capture the image, nothing happened
