  • Still no good enough

First of all, I really hope Photomator succeed in replacing Adobe Lightroom, so once again, I downloaded it to start a free trial. It was getting a lot better, with very good integration with the Photos app and very usable ML features, but its editing UX is still subpar. Here are some suggestions: (1) For any slider adjustment, I wish I can use my arrow keys to fine tune the slider when my mouse is hovered on the slider. (2) For curves, it seems like there is no easy way to delete a point; double-clicking doesn’t work. (3) For curves and selective color, the macOS versions need the “drag and adjust” feature like the curves adjustments in your iOS/iPadOS app. (4) Need some easier way to switch into/out of color adjustments. What about a shortcut like the “E” key like Lightroom? (5) While we are at this, would also be nice to have a switch for preset - on to show preset, and off to show filmstrip. This will allow me to use arrow keys to switch between presets or move to next photos. (6) For Raw+JPEG file, allow an option to view JPEG by default while edit on Raw.
  • Paying

Why on earth would I have to pay to save an image? I don’t feel like paying in an app. Someone remove the paying thing and I will download this app.
  • Great app

This app is super cool, but I wish it was a little bit earlier to understand how to use for those who are not experienced with this stuff.
  • Filter by Favorites

Would be nice if Photomator could filter by Favorites when viewing an album in the Albums tab, much like the system Photos app.
  • A fun and very useful post-processsing app.

I didn’t start with Photomator until after the purchase by Apple. Since then I’ve been using it more & more, to the point where it’s becoming my default app. Why? Because of its two venues, processing in the Apple Photo Library, as a peer but already better app than Apple Photos, and also, able to see local drives, hence being able to process any RAWs, jpegs, etc., on our computers. Perfect for the casual user, and surprising for the experts with those expensive programs, in just how well this unassuming program gets things done. Check out some of its unique tools to see how quickly and efficiently it can handle image adjustments, and how much sooner.
  • Paying for stuff available for free is diabolical

I’m not gonna pay for cropping, some filters nor the object removal feature when it’s available for FREE on the default Photos app and when other apps have this for free, how diabolical. $30/year is not worth it when you can get it for free on other apps, and some of the features are even better + for free. Don’t fall for these obvious scams! It’s just another l e of Apples greedy money grabs for idiots.
  • Almost perfect

I really wish they would bring Pixelmator Pro to the iPad and iPhone, but Photomator is a pretty good backup even if it is missing a lot of the cool features in Pixelmater pro. A few features that would really help that are in other photo editing apps though, such as a photo collage tool, text along a curved path tool, a face and body editing tool for teeth whitening, wrinkles, body shape adjustments, etc. That would push this to being the only photo editing app I’d ever need.
  • $30 a year for basic photo editor:/

It’s a good photo editor, but very basic. I signed up for the 7 day trial, but cancelled within 5 minutes. This should be free, or a small one time payment. The $30 annual subscription price for this makes me laugh.
  • Buggy, Useless Magic Eraser, and No Generative AI.

Photomator is not a valid replacement for a program as robust as Adobe Lightroom for three reasons. The first is, the O hotkey to reveal and hide a mask overlay doesn’t work reliably—no matter what settings you toggle on or off. This is a big one, and a serious hindrance during editing that has no workaround. It’s a stupid issue that should not exist. Second, the “magic eraser” that the Pixelmator team likes to tout as an end-all-be-all for removing distracting objects from photos is one of many definitions for garbage. All it does is smear a shoddy jumble of pixels overtop the user’s mask. It doesn’t hide anything, and is so obviously ineffective that no serious photographer could ever trust it to do what it is advertised to do. Lastly, neither Photomator nor Pixelmator has access to generative AI to PROPERLY remove objects from photos. Photomator’s best answer to this is problem is adequate healing tools and great cloning tools that work at the pixel-level to fill in spaces on the user’s canvas as needed. But, those options are not efficient nor are they competitive in today’s market. I really wanted to like this app given how well optimised it is for use on MacOS, but it simply doesn’t do enough to justify leaving behind big industry players. Look elsewhere.
  • VERY DISAPPOINTED APPLE!

I'm 67 years old and accidentally purchased Photomator app from iTunes Store. The webpage for Photomator is VERY misleading and hard to under stand. The Photomator app offers a 7 day trial but forces you to provide a Credit Card. I'm not interested in subscriptions with apps because they are truly a consumer rip off, I purchase Stand alone versions only. With the understanding of the 7 day trial I purchase the app that cost $119.00 after installing the app is was clear its did not do as advertised. I only purchased the software for the sole purpose of back ground removal on my personal photos. When I discovered it wasn't what I thought I was purchasing, I submitted the refund request after removing the software from my computer. (Apple can see it's not on your machine anymore thru iCloud) Then I purchased Pixelmator Pro for $49.99 the one that does back ground removal. I find it very concerning that Apple isn't honoring the 7 day trial period as advertised. I should have purchased thru my Credit Card instead of adding funds to my iTunes card. The I could dispute the charge with my bank. VERY DISAPPOINTED APPLE! It's obvious you no longer care about good business ethics anymore.
