  • Apple Takes Over and Removes Key Function

This app was easily one of my favorites. Every morning I would see the featured photos in Apple Photos. Some I would send to Photomator to edit. As of today, the ability to send photos from Apple Photos to Photomator has been DELETED. Shame on you Apple. Please restore this function!!

Are there any plans for Photomator to have video editing along side photos?
  • A Professional Photographer’s Perspective – Photomator Delivers

As a professional photographer, I rely on efficient, high-quality editing tools to meet tight deadlines while maintaining the highest standard of work. Having used Adobe Lightroom for years, finding a true alternative seemed nearly impossible—until I discovered Photomator. The intuitive UI strikes the perfect balance between simplicity and power, providing every essential tool I need without unnecessary clutter. The object removal tool outperforms anything I’ve used, delivering seamless edits with minimal effort. Batch processing with custom workflows has been a game-changer, especially when handling high-volume edits under time constraints. The Denoise tool is nothing short of impressive, rescuing shots that would otherwise be unusable. Another crucial feature for my workflow is direct access to the Files library, allowing me to manage and edit my RAW files efficiently without unnecessary workarounds. These features combined made committing to a lifetime license an easy decision. Photomator is proving to be a serious contender in professional photography workflows. I’d love to see further refinements and features catering to high-volume professionals—perhaps enhanced tethering support or deeper metadata handling. Looking forward to seeing how this app evolves!
  • I really want to use it, but...

I like the overall look, feel and functionality and I think they are on the right track, but unfortunately this app is missing crucial funtions like keywording, and metadata editing. They have some fancy features on the road map that I could live without, but being able to keyword photos is essential I think for most photographers. Until that features is added, the app will have limited use for me. Collections, or smart albums is another feature that needs improvement. So developers, I like the app but I don't love it and can't use it...
  • My New Favorite

Every now and then, I go though and test other editing apps when I get frustrated with some of the big names out there. My frustrations often come with the amount of resources an app can have while editing on an older machine. I recently took the same files and ran them through several apps, and found that Photomator treated my raw files (mainly RW2 with NEF and RAF sprinkled in) best. It used less resources (my five year old MacBook Pro did not sound like it was trying to leave the planet), the detail in highlights and shadows were easier to work with and the ML white balance is almost perfect for getting the right color balance. The user experience is fast and clean and can access your apple photos (if you let it) to have a seamless workflow across all your favorite Apple devices larger than a watch. This app my not be perfect for everyone but it has become my new favorite. Not sure I will go back to the others I have use. Well done Pixelmator team. I look forward to the future of the app.
  • Don't worry about paying.

When I made a few edits and it told me to pay, I had a brilliant idea that actually worked! I decided that instead of paying, I could just screenshot it and delete the old photo if I wanted to! I think this app is wonderful otherwise. Don't listen to anyone else. Just this girl! (≧∇≦)
  • Great photo editing

I do minor photo editing and this program does a fantastic job. But I got one question, when I post the finished photos on Facebook. They lose a lot of their quality. When they are on my iPad they are great.
  • Needs better Denoising features.

The noise reduction makes images look very blurry. Capture one, Lightroom, and Darktable all do this much better. Software not useful for high ISO images.
  • What is the price for this app

    2

Well ,looking for a replacement for photoshop and I am lookin into this software along with pixlmator. The website of the developer doesn’t mention any price, nor seems to be a way to contact them to ask. Instead the point to the app store. So, here in the App Store there are THREE different prices alone or lifetime. No mention of what price is valid for who. So I downloaded the “free for a week” to see the in app price, in the app there is only one life time price and of course its not the most reasonable price. What gives?? i never had a company make such a secret out of the price they want to charge. I am really not sure if I want to trust a company that is so “weird”. They might go to apple and they might pull the plug like they did with other software, so who knows if a lifetime would even be a smart move. Anyway, I case you are looking for pricing information the lifetime is 119 dollar.
  • Getting so close!

I’ve been wanting this app to exist for years and I think we’re about there. I love the Photos/Files contexts as it perfectly fits my personal/professional workflows respectively. The biggest complaint I have is that the arrow key doesn’t go to the next photo in editing mode. When I’m powering through hundred of photos using two hands, little inefficiencies like this make a huge difference. I’d prefer the filmstrip to always be on the bottom personally. Aside from that, I’d say the way it locks up the app when doing batch edits or exports is a bit annoying, but I can deal with it if the main editing workflow is good. If you’re marketing this to pros, then there’s a number of things needed to be competitive in the area of AI fills, HDR/focus/pano merges, etc. I’m still going to need to utilize Affinity Photo and others post-adobe. Finally, I miss the speed at which I could scan through photos in Lightroom, but I’m sure that’ll improve with hw and sw updates.
