  • Difficult to learn coming from Excel

I’m a long time Excel user, and certainly not a power user, but I can make it do what I need. Switching over to Numbers is driving me crazy, not because it’s a bad program, but because I just don’t know how to get things done when I need to.
  • Specific Use Case

I work in plant breeding, which means I take tons of data. I will never actually do any analysis out of numbers (and often rarely use excel), but instead, I use Rstudio or Python. Being in the field and needing to take tons of data, I find numbers to be a VERY user friendly and fool-proof data-collection tool. Negative: I get that it’s a proprietary apple software, but I hate the numbers file type. Its compatible with nothing and I will aways export to csv or xlsx.
  • It’s not Excel

I learned Excel and Excel makes sense to me. Numbers is not intuitive to me. I can’t figure out how to do things I easily and intuitively did on Excel.

I find this software difficult to use. Excel is much better.

I know there are sources for info on how to use Numbers but someone who uses it as little as I do would like an easier way to figure out how to . . . For instance - how to “center text in text box”

I keep track of my charges each month so that I can see where the money was spent.
