  • After 2 years, I have given up

FCP for iPad is a tremendous disappointment. It was a sorely needed product, but sadly it falls down at any obstacle thrown in front of it. My problems started last year with the 1.3 update (which broke compatibility for media types already being used in my projects, setting me back a significant amount of time and requiring reshoots of certain footage) and have continued ever since. Apple support dropped the ball numerous times attempting to “help” me after my last negative review and only succeeding in taking up literal hours of my time. As of the latest 2.1 update, I’m no longer even able to successfully get a complex project to export (which had previously been successful on 2.0) and the stability of the product has gotten significantly worse and freezes up on me frequently. At this point, I cannot trust this product ever again. After 2 years, I have cancelled my subscription that has been in place since day 1, and I won’t be back. If you are a professional video editor, I strongly recommend trialing this product with a low-stakes project to test your workflows before tackling anything large, or risk being shackled to a bad product for the duration.

I like Final Cut Pro for iPad because I can get a video edited quickly and give it a professional look without it being too complicated. Fits my needs for now.

No suelo dar comentarios a ninguna app, pero esta app es perfectamente completa y práctica, sirve para lo que dice y es increíblemente útil para aquellos que quieren hacer los mejores videos y proyectos de calidad

OK even though it may not have all the features of the Os version it still is nice to use when your on the go and need to edit something quick. I would say give it another year and we will be using our iPad pros to edit everything with it as FCPX users.
  • Apple fails Apple

The main reason I wanted this app on my iPad was so I could edit my green screen content on the go. Only to find out it can not edit .mov files. The main file Apple devices record in. How can you not edit YOUR OWN VIDEOS IN YOUR SOFTWARE. If I convert them to mp4 the effect works but if I am going to do that I might as well just edit on my laptop. So disappointed. The worst part is no one in Apple seems to know it’s happening. Willing to change the review if this get addressed
  • Why. There is no Arabic language. For a long time. And this is not nice.

  • No Custom Luts, No Thrid Party Plug in Support or No Visual EQ

I really wish I can like this version of Final Cut Pro but if I’m paying monthly for it I do expect simple features like adding my own custom Luts or third party plug in support. Or even a way to see my EQ when I mix audio. I wish I can give it 5 stars but this app is so incomplete and paying monthly without seeing results done with the app is frustrating.
  • Keeps freezing

I have used this app multiple times to make videos the same way every time, a week ago it started freezing whenever I opened a project and I thought I fixed it by clearing old projects and making space. Then it happened again today, i was worked on a project all day and it froze. I tired everything the website suggested and even contacted apple support and the guy couldn’t figure out why it was happening either. I really liked the app but now I’m going to have to find a new app. I don’t know what else to do.
  • False Advertising - Costs Involved

    1
    By ReVoLLee
Final Cut Pro for iPad misleads because the cost isn’t revealed until you download the app and run it - then it tells you one month is “free” and then it is $4.99/month or $49/year. One might notice that it even says there there are in-app purchases that usually means there will be advertisements within the otherwise ‘free’ app. Misleading to get folks to download the app so they can show high numbers. Not ethical practices. I downloaded it … and will soon uninstall this app. Too bad, because I might have tried it if they were honest. Their willingness to screw folks once means they’ll be willing to screw folks many times.
