It seems to be an arduous process each time I run a label print job— speaking the label maker with my iPhone 16
  • Hardware is only as good as its software

I’ve used the companion Brother app Pro Label 2 but abandoned it when suddenly it did not support installed fonts, rendering all my label designs with a corporate font unusable. I switched to print because it still recognizes all the fonts in my iOS system. However, this version won’t allow me to change label sizes. It constantly tells me the label size does not correspond to the one in the printer, when obviously it’s wrong. I’ve tried multiple Brother tapes to no avail. I will never purchase another Brother product when the software is so inferior to their excellent label printers. Very frustrating.
  • Needs improvement, works for simple labels OK, but missing…

OK, what does it need? I can’t seem to do a single text that is pasted and fills the tape easily. * I have 2 of these cube printers… one with 1/4” tape, one with 1” tape… so when I select the printer I want it to switch to the settings last used for THAT printer… not tell me the width of the tape doesn’t match and make me set it all up * having custom setups I can edit * having auto sized labels (length), I thought it used to do that but I can’t figure out how the heck to set it… so I make a small label and then one with longer text, I want to be able to have the 2nd one automatically be 3” long instead of the 1” it was set to… often I have to guess, get it wrong and print again!! * wrap multiple lines… if I grab the 1” printer I want to be able to paste a long message and have it auto split it to 3 lines and adjust the label to match the font size…. Or raise the font size to match the width of the tape.. automatically!!! With an option to easily say, no, make that 4 lines… SAVE Label templates!! MY templates please…. Saved filled out labels too… Print a QR code label with text below it (can match QR or not)

The PT-710BT is great as a portable unit. It handles a wide range of tapes and Amazon available tapes work fine (doesn’t have to be OEM tape). Handling the range of tape sizes is also a plus. It is sometimes cumbersome to swap tape sizes and the saved items are constrained to the same size tape. There is wastage, which can be minimized by using the continuous feed option.

The P-touch is portable and you can make labels from your phone in a breeze. It’s so simple making labels with many different fonts, images and frames to choose from. I’m going crazy labeling everything in my house.

I’m starting to like it better than my other P touches. Some things are a little hard to find or to figure out how to save as a format. For instance, I can’t get it to go from inches to millimeters on one of my devices?
