Want to print cable labels? Too bad. There are no cable templates and none of the functionality you would need to easily create one.

Have the p touch label printer all connected to the proper ports. Will it ever find the printer? It’s not looking good.

Love that it takes no ink! Not too bad to set up on a Mac and the software is super easy to design (relatively simple) labels in.
  • It’s a Dumpster Fire of an application

The hardware? Solid. Reliable. Brother is unfortunately the best label printer company out there. But this “design” software is straight trash. Text boxes randomly resize your fonts whether you asked them to or not. Want to make your text slightly bigger? Don’t bother trying to change the font size manually—it won’t work the way you think it should. You have to drag the corners of the text box just to make the font larger than the software deems acceptable. Every single time I click on something, it moves slightly. Every. Time. That’s not user error—that’s a broken input handler. And then there’s the tape waste. The printer automatically spits out nearly a full inch of blank label before every print, because the cutter is apparently mounted somewhere near the back of the printer, and there’s no way around it unless you dig through the settings to enable “Chain Printing,” disable auto-cut, batch all your labels together, and cut them by hand. Even then, it still wastes tape at the start. Whether that’s a technical necessity or a business decision designed to move more cartridges, I’ll let you decide. Honestly, I’ve started designing all my labels in Pages—because Pages is beautifully designed, infinitely more flexible, and lets me use whatever font and layout I want without being gaslit by a label template from 2002. Export to PDF, print directly to the label printer, done. No drama. Brother: I love your hardware. But please. This software is a usability disaster. Fire your UX team and give the job to someone who’s opened a Mac app in the last fifteen years.

The Product is fantastic but the instruction for installation/download is absolutely terrible! Thank goodness I know computers or this never would have happened.
  • Smooth Interface

The app makes printing barcodes for warehousing seamless. If only the labels weren’t so hard to peel off.
  • Buggy Mess

While I do appreciate that the app is not some Electron app garbage, I can consistently get this app to crash without report just switching fonts inside of a text box.
