Brother iPrint&Scan is a free app that enables you to print from and scan to your iOS device (iPhone / iPod touch / iPad). Use your local wireless network to connect your iOS device to your Brother printer or all-in-one. Some new advanced functions have been added, including edit, fax send, fax preview, copy preview, and machine status. Visit your local Brother website for a list of supported models.     The **ONLY** point of this app is to force users like my to use 4x as much ink with each page printed. This app doesn’t allow any of the ink saving features that have been a standard part of printing for 20 years. Shame on brother. Shame on Apple. I’ve convinced at least 10 people to invest in brother laser printers. Never again. Return to drivers or allow lower ink printing options. Shameful! Return the draft printing options.

  • Not good for mobile office

    The only time this app and my printer/scan works with no problem is when I’m home on my home WiFi. When I’m out and need to scan documents trying to connect by Bluetooth or changing WiFi settings is a pain. I should be able to scan and upload documents using my iPhone connected to my cellular data and be able to swap between the two or at least login to another WiFi connection. The printers are fine but using the Brother products and the app are not convenient for a mobile office. Setup is also a pain. I would suggest the Brother printers because you can print without having all the ink colors but look into other options for scanners.

    This app is so NOT user friendly, and there are two apps that seem to have partial control over the same things but neither of them are helpful. When I’m trying to connect the printer to a new WiFi (replaced the old one) the instructions just say “Connect to WiFi” - that’s really helpful. You’re a computer based business. Get your apps fixed and maybe combine them into one app that actually works.

    Prints ok, but won’t scan. Keeps getting “Cannot Connect” error

  • It’s sharp on the paper, but fuzzy on this awful scan

    That pretty much says it all. I tried it on my regular computer and the app both are equally blurry. This from a scan of a very sharp and perfect lease agreement. I think they made it even worse with all these needless update.

  • Scan is functional, Fax send from mobile device is limited to a single page photograph.

    The function to scan works well, saves to PDF and other formats correctly. The fax send function can send a single photo from the iPad. If multiple photos are selected the app will hang. If a PDF is selected the app will hang, as it will all other document sources. Apparently the rasterizer fell apart at some point in the parade of iOS updates. This is the only Fax application from Brother. To send a multi-page fax a would-be user is forced to print to paper and then put the document in the scanner to scan and send as if it was still 1992. This app is a reason for iOS users to choose a different brand of all-in-one print/scan/fax machine.

  • Can’t Update Firmware

    Atleast the app allows me to scan documents (something the desktop app stop doing a while back with no fix in sight!). However this app says I need to update my printer’s firmware but when I click the buttons it opens a website that requires me to log in but there’s no way to log in!! It’s deeply disappointing how poorly Brother’s software works across a multitude of platforms
