This printer and scanner used to work flawlessly, now it’s a useless piece of garbage. Scan to computer never works which is the primary purpose.

as of most recent update, scanning results in an error stating the app doesn’t have permission to put things in the scan folder I have selected. In MacOS Settings, app does not appear in Files/Folders access pane, and there’s no way to trigger the app to request/allow access. So the app is literally unusable unless this is fixed. Sorry for the 1-star review, figured it’s the only way for the error to be seen and fixed. Thanks

I have a macbook os13. I was able to print through the app. I've used it once and it worked great.

Bought the MFC-L3770CDW. Worked fine for a while but then I change the wifi network and since then can't print using the Wifi, rendering this 50lbs thing pretty much useful. High schooler's could probably write a better app then this app. Wastage of time and resources.
  • App does not support older Brother printers

Just upgraded to latest Mac mini macOS 15.1.x to find my older Brother printer is not supported (and has not been supported since macOS 10.15.x). This is called “planned obsolescence” and the means of Brother to get you to buy their latest product. As a note, the Generic PCL Laser Printer macOS installs has issue with duplex printing.
  • No way to do one image per file unless quit and restart

This software is crummy. Brother must not have a brotherly interest in their customers if this is the best they can do. I would like to be able to scan several pieces of paper and end up with the same number of scanned image files instead of one PDF with all of the images entered on a separate page of that document. There is no way to do that or if there is there is nothing on the internet that tells me how.

I can print/scan fine directly from the MacOS print utility and from the phone app, but desktop Brother app randomly won’t recognize the machine exists anymore. Horrible app.
  • Cannot print Word documents??

I installed the Brother iPrint & Scan utility on my Mac laptop to try to fix the problem that I am unable to wake up my Brother printer from sleep through printing using AirPrint -- and yet Brother provides no printer drivers for my Mac computers, so you are stuck using only AirPrint. The good news about this utility is that it did in fact print my document and wake up the printer from sleep to do it. The bad news is that you can only print a "PDF" or a "photo" from here (no Word docs or other docs!), and you have to open the file in the app itself -- it is not an add-on that you can use to print from other programs (e.g., Adobe, Word, internet browsers, etc.). So I guess if I ever have to print a single PDF that is saved on the hard drive of my machine, I can use this. For any other thing that I want to print, in any other location, I cannot.

horrible for wifi priniting! Doesnt work form the mac unless i attach tpo printer. Works fine form phone however. I also have ran into issues with documents taking for-ev-er when printing a pdf. Worfd doc flies through like nobodys business. This printer or app is horrible and hard to troubleshoot.
