  • Continued issues with this app on an iPad

Fortunately, this app was changed to be able to use it easier on an iPad. The app is still a major pain in other ways. When I try to read USA Today, I now have a gray stripe across the top quarter of the whole paper so it is impossible to read. You still spend half the time when trying to read the paper closing all the ads in order to read it. I pay for the paper so I shouldn’t have to close out an ad on every different section in order to read the paper. Definitely takes twice as long to read the paper than it did just a few weeks ago before this app. I personally am feeling forced to access the news from the internet as the BFP has been reduced to an app that’s primary purpose is to advertise to you. I really miss reading my paper. 6/11/24 update. This continues to be the worst app EVER! I constantly shuts down and reloads my paper. Constantly forces me to wait to read the next section so it can advertise to me. Wow and it I want to go back to reread something, I get the joy of it advertising to me again and blocking me from rereading something. This is the only local paper available to be. I have subscribed to well over 30 years and I can’t express loudly enough how much I hate this app

App doesn’t let me access e-paper. I’ve been a subscriber for many years, and it’s very frustrating!

I use an ipad to try to read the free press. The pinch and zoom bugs (which were fixed) are back! My app continues to freeze, and if you try to read using pinch or zoom you'll jump to somewhere else. The app had been horrible for trying to get thru usa today, today it was horrible on both the free press and usa today. This app is garbage, please give us something that let's us read the Burlington Free Press.
  • Latest changes to BFP app are awkward & frustrating

If I want to enlarge a story in the lower right corner of a “page” I tap once and am always taken to the upper left, leaving me to scroll to the story I want to read. Along the way, an errant tap sends me into a different level. Being able to easily adjust these tap & swipe options could be much clearer. Is this new version of the BFP app a canned, off- the-shelf offering. Not sure who it is benefitting. 1/21/24: I am continually frustrated by the inferior quality of this app. Irarely, if ever, make it through an issue w/o it locking up, forcing me to close & reopen. Abysmal
  • Big step backward

We’ve been loyal Free Press subscribers for almost 50 years and have adapted to all the changes to the medium over those years. This latest move eliminating the standalone ePrint APP is the last straw. We pay to subscribe and now we’re subjected to pop-up ads to boot! The regular BFP APP is cumbersome, slow, unintuitive and just plain terrible. We’ll sadly be joining the ranks of former Burlington Free Press subscribers as a result. You wonder why local newspapers are failing? This is the reason.
