  • Love my CJ

I’ve been reading the CJ since I was a small girl. I read the paper with delivery and now throughly enjoy the e- online version. First thing in the AM , coffee, breakfast and the CJ. Catching up on local news and interesting local stories, profiles of Louisvillians and more are the reasons I subscribe.

The paper is a day late on news and the sports section is pretty bad.

Site does not always come up with the epaper, but works okay mostly. Like many websites you just need patience to find the correct button!

Having returned home to Louisville after 45 years away in San Francisco and NYC, I’m pleasantly surprised at the quality of my hometown paper.

Generally quality reporting. Adapting to tech changes has been difficult. Some days there is a thick black bar running across the bottom of the screen when viewing enewspaper. Could do without that for a bigger screen to view. On occasion there are hoops to jump through to get to the enewspaper to view it. I used to be a CJ/ Lou Times delivery boy. So I plod through tech changes recognizing changing times require it.

I have been reading the CJ (and Times) for about 70 years. I long for the days when we had several very good editorial writers and news that was from the day before. We knew sports scores the morning after the games and election results were thorough and prompt.

Read daily. Sometimes picking up on information not heard on TV or clarifying what was heard. Sometimes it is too political- one sided. But keep in mind only an option & not necessarily my vote.
  • New CJ app

For the most part I’m enjoying the new CJ app. However, it sometimes decides to put a thick black line across the bottom of the page, making the amount of text visible much smaller. I generally have to turn my iPad off and back on to get rid of it. Today, I tried to access the USA News page and not only was that not possible, now I cannot get to the main Editions by State page. I tried rebooting and also signing off and on and all I get is a blank screen with a whirling circle.

If you don’t stop the pop ups on this new app, I’m going to cancel my subscription.
