  • Cant subscribe on ipad

Press the subscribe button and nothing happens. You really should let the user see the files to make sure they are in the correct account before attempting to click subscribe. Now I am locked out of my files due to some bug with ipad subscription logic. If you instead allow login, and show a list of files. I can see that the correct account is enabled and ready for subscription. I probably messed it up by subscribing using the wrong account then logging in through google instead. Confusing and a painful waste of time.

App needs to be forced quit while using. Layers don’t appear often, but once the app is restarted they appear again. I am on a new iPad Pro… this shouldn’t be happening. Do better Adobe, we pay you enough.
  • Ipad is a separate subscription

I was so glad to find a mobile version of Adobe apps because I use an Ipad for my school work. As an art student, I use the touchscreen and apple pen often for notes, drawing, etc. I have a college email with a subscription for adobe apps for my projects and assignments. I am so disappointed to learn that you need a separate subscription for mobile apps than you do desktop apps. It is extremely inconvenient and not user friendly especially as a college student with limited resources and so many other things to balance on top of this. It seems nearly like a waste of money to even have an iPad if I’m unable to do the work on apps I already pay for. There aren’t even the same amount of accessories and abilities on the mobile app than there is desktop. It is a downgrade in general and you have to reteach yourself Illustrator just to use the mobile version.

Not even a fraction of the power of the desktop app. Just stick to your computer for anything more than a passive hobby.
  • Needlessly confusing UI and settings don’t work

Needlessly confusing and frustrating, UI is scattered, needs to be simplified, and settings don’t work. There should be MINIMAL steps to accomplish a single task. I’m not buying a subscription to this app. It didn’t require a 30-days free trial for me to experience, within 48 hours, that this app is not built right. Adobe sent me an email today with a video about converting file-types to vector. Nothing in it about color-filling line art, and considering I didn’t ask Adobe how to convert raster files to vector files, yet that’s what they emailed to me smh. My frustration is with the Illustrator app for iPad not functioning as claimed and has an extremely senseless UI that you can’t use to simply draw with a vector tool then color-fill. If it’s possible, then show how, because I’ve tried their suggestions, and I really want to use Adobe Illustrator for iPad—but it doesn’t work in real-life for simple vector drawing tasks (not for me it didn’t). And if you hover over many of the control icons, there is no text to explain what they are, so you literally have to peck around trying to figure out what a button does😤🤬!! Insanity. When I tested the blob tool and the pencil tool, I drew my line art in black, then tried to color-fill inside my line art. LOL Nothing happened. No matter how many times I tapped those stupid circles ⭕️🔴—after turning off one of the circles (🚫) and selected what I drew—it would NOT fill (🔴) inside my line art. The Illustrator for iPad app is not built to use how we actually, in real-life, navigate and use the UI of typical drawing apps. Like where is the single-tap to select a color then single-tap to bucket fill? How do you not have a bucket fill tool in a vector/drawing app in 2025? Lol Anyways, I’ve deleted Adobe Illustrator from my iPad Pro as of today, sad to say. If Adobe improves it, will try it again, until then, I can’t do it lol.

So over all I love this app! It’s easy to work on the road… my issue with it, my work is primarily done on windows, and this app REFUSES to export as an .ai file… it crashes every time, never fails to disappoint. And even when I export as an alternative file, it never gets all the photos in the art boards, or worse, loses half the lines in designs. Basically requiring me to REDO the project, artboard by artboard… fixing the .ai export to actually work would be huge, also adding the ability to rasturize would be HUGE!.
  • Controls are horrible

Nothing about the layout or functionality of the Illustrator app is ported from PC. Controls are clumsy, the app is snail slow even on a new IPad, it doesn’t recognize and import missing fonts on text documents. For that matter, it doesn’t recognize any element it doesn’t have the immediate tools to generate meaning some documents, like the one I am attempting to work on—are completely uneditable.
  • For as much as I pay for Adobe, this app is TERRIBLE

It would be different if Adobe was cheap, but this app is awful. I cannot switch between my iPad and Mac on SIMPLE projects. It won’t load… poor quality… and if I open a cloud document on the iPad app, it completely messes it up. DO BETTER ADOBE!!!
  • Worst App Ever

I can’t believe how many bugs are in this one app. With EVERY USE I have to reboot the app, delete something I just did in order to affect a layer, etc.. Now I unsubscribe and you all hold MY artwork hostage when I just need to export it to Procreate. NEVER using Adobe anything again.. Affinity Designer for the win.
