  • Update?

In need of an update. Glitchy. Lacks a lot of features that the unaffordable desktop version has.

The app is so buggy that it’s almost counterproductive to use. I’m finding that whenever the app is backgrounded and then foregrounded again, the canvas becomes unresponsive. The toolbar still works and I can pan and zoom illustrations, but shapes, pen strokes, etc won’t work until the app is force-closed. This has to be done 5-10 times per session. All on an M4 iPad Pro. Insane for an app this expensive, but par the course for the Adobe Suite.
  • Adobe WHAT are you DOING?

Adobe, I don’t know what you guys are doing but Illustrator for iPad is in DIRE need of a real update. You given the app no new features nearly since the app launched. The software should be usable with the Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro and it isn’t at all. We have access to a precision trackpad with it, every single vector software for iPadOS works with it, yet the main vector software of the world is this far behind? Something as simple as panning the canvas is not possible with the trackpad? That’s crazy. We pay you guys way too much money to have this kind of customer disrespect. It’s easy to see you guys don’t want to invest any real time for iPad, but at the very least make the app usable for the full spectrum of input for the iPad Pro. It can be so great. You guys literally made the web version of illustrator better than this. It’s a shame.
  • Adobe should be ashamed

$40 a month for glitchy and broken interface. Shortcuts randomly stop working on the iPad app. I just ran into an issue where the direct select tool would duplicate everything I tapped onto. Closing and relaunching the app didn’t work. There’s no update for this glitch. I only brought my iPad for work and now have to wait until I get home to my desktop to finish my project.
  • Good but glitchy

App is good and features are relatively easy to learn but my app freezes and glitches when switching between other apps such as photos. The only fix I have found is to restart the app but that is a hassle to do every few minutes.

Please stop crashing. I should be able to use the app freely.. I pay for it monthly. Also, it should be a way I can save my files to my folder.
  • Good But Comes With Noticeable Bugs

This app is really great to work on some *simple* Illustrator files on the go without having to lug around my laptop. Sadly this version of Illustrator doesn’t nearly have all the capabilities as the desktop version and comes with some noticeable and annoying bugs. 🐛 BUGS I NOTICED SOR FAR: - For seemingly no reason, selecting multiple layers at once sometimes doesn’t work. Which forces me to save my work and exist then re-enter the app to fix it. - Not sure if this a bug or not, but sometimes snapping doesn’t work well. - Sometimes layers in the layer panel disappear even though they are still shown in the artboard. - Also not sure if this is also a bug or not, but I am unable to delete layers. Only sub layers. 🤩 THINGS WE WISH WERE ADDED TO FUTURE UPDATES: - More text preferences and paragraph alignments that are similar to the desktop version. - Image tracing - Pattern creation - Ability to create guides from shapes. - Better responsiveness from iPad users who prefer to use a mouse and keyboard with their device! - When adding more fonts from the Adobe library we should be able to filter from serif and sans-serif in addition to the font style filters they offer. I really, really enjoy this app as it has really enhanced my on-the-go creativity and design work, but it honestly seems more bare than I was expecting. It’s good for getting your ideas out but, in the end, you’ll ultimately *have* to use the desktop app for finalizing your work and fine tuning it. And if you don’t have your computer with you, sometimes you’ll feel stuck wishing you could edit your work like you could on your desktop or laptop.

Incredibly difficult to get fonts loaded onto the mobile app. I still have not figured it out. So my assets from my MacBook desktop app will not transfer to the Mobile app. I have downloaded the fonts I need on my iPad and Adobe still wont accept the font package. So can’t work on my assets created on my other device. Shame
