In need of an update. Glitchy. Lacks a lot of features that the unaffordable desktop version has.

I’ve been using adobe illustrator for a few years now and it’s lack of ability to save and handle a certain amount of work hasn’t progressed. Countless hours and effort wasted due to saving errors and what I think are simply overrides from not being able to handle the complexity of the drawings. I’ve put this theory to the test by using the program on different devices and all end up doing the exact same errors. It’s a shame because when it is working for about 20 minutes straight maximum without shutting off, it’s a really useful program.

I didn’t buy the membership and I don’t think I will because the app keeps crashing
  • Doesn’t work well on iPad Pro

For the price of this app I’m really disappointed on how glitchy it is on iPad Pro. I’ve been using adobe desktop programs for 20+ years, but my experience on the iPad has been considering switching to Affinity. I shouldn’t need to restart AI every few minutes. Will not be renewing my subscription at this rate.
  • Perfect and reliable except one thing.

After about 20 hours on this app so far, the app runs beautifully. It’s very intuitive and the learning curve is minimal. With the normal limitations of doing graphic work on an iPad there is one specific thing that sticks out the most and that is, Freezing. It freezes a LOT. Every time I exit a project, open a project, create a page or just sometimes when I open the app, it freezes. And I have to swipe away the window to reset it every time. But that is the only problem I’ve had with this app so far! IPad Pro 11inch (M4)
  • Needed Features Missing, Overall a Huge Disappointment

This app is completely surface level and rarely gets feature updates. It’s pretty insane considering the price point / subscription fees. How do you not have the gradient mesh tool included? That alone would set this app apart from its competitors. Please get your act together Adobe. You have fallen so far down I actively choose not to use you anymore. I would gladly welcome you changing my mind.
  • It “works”, but it doesn’t “work” for me.

The iPadOS version does not have enough parity with the desktop versions. This version does not seem to have a proper concept of paths and struggles when trying to use paths instead of complete shapes. I do not find this app usable for my workflows.

  • Adobe illustrator for iPad

This is the most un user-friendly app I have ever used on my iPad! I have used Adobe illustrator on an iMac for 25 years and the tools on the iPad version are not the same. I have gone through tutorials but when I am trying to import an image, it comes in at about 800% and I’m not able to see the handles to resize it. Also the pinch and spread using my fingers on the screen do not work in this application! My illustrations are in procreate and I would prefer to draw them in a vector based program like illustrator right on the screen. But this application is awful!
  • Please adobe give us something

The app has great drawing tools, probably the best drawing tools for pure vector (with pencil) there is. If we can just get some much needed quality of life updates it make things a whole lot better. I’m mad at Adobe for giving Photoshop all these updates for iPad and they’ve given nothing to illustrator at all. Not even some small quality of life updates. Really hope you guys can come in and give us something.
