Description

Tatami is a casual puzzle game where you fill the board with boxes of the specified size. If you like thinky games like Shikaku, Picross, or Sudoku, but wish for shorter pick-up-and-play levels, you’ll love Tatami. Things start simple, but as soon as you get comfortable the game gets a little trickier and a little weirder. And then some more! But it stays a kind game: there are no timers or scores, and you can skip any level with no penalty. And the levels never end! There are enough high quality, procedurally generated boards to last you a lifetime. On the road to infinity, there are over 100 special handcrafted levels full of surprises. And maybe there’s a super secret, super tricky challenge hidden somewhere; I’m not at liberty to say. The first two hundred levels are free, and the rest can be unlocked with a single in-app purchase. The same purchase allows you to customize the game with themes and cute alternative icons. Your progress is synced and dark mode is supported, so you can play anywhere, anytime, on the most convenient device. And obviously: no ads, no tracking, no data collection, no account required, no dark patterns. Just a honestly fun game to keep you company when you need a little break. This game was made with love and patience. I hope you’ll enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed designing and building it. – Kaylee Terms & Conditions: https://kaylees.site/terms-and-conditions.html

This game is insanely fun and addicting I have been playing it for a few months on and off and recently got back into it. I made it all the way to level 450ish and #454 is absolutely mind bending I have no idea what these yellow squares do with the math involved in this game. It’s like double subtracting?? But also taking the total outside the square and making it a negative number? I’m so lost honestly I may have to give up I can’t wrap my head around this. Great 450 levels tho 😭
  • Awesome mind-puzzle type game from a great dev.

The first 200 levels are completely free. The game has no ads or other “can we track you please? ” kinds of things, and the full unlock is a single $4.99 purchase for unlimited levels if you like the game. Works great on my iPhone and iPad. For the Mac, there is a setting for better “touch alternative” controls using the trackpad. It’s a genius implementation. It’s a joy to play with the Apple Pencil + iPad. Can really get into a nice groove haha. Tbh, I can’t find too many things wrong with this app. The only thing I might ask for is a bit more freedom with the color options as well as an easier way to go back to single levels you have completed. I am not sure if those additions would balloon the app size, because I am not a dev =]. Game’s great regardless. -longtime Wipr user :D

I love the simple and clean UI and the fact that it’s a one time purchase to unlock everything.

Ad free, first 200 puzzles free, never monotonous, makes me use my brain. Why would I play anything else?

I am 332 puzzles in. Every once in a while a new game mechanic is introduced, which keeps things interesting. This game reminds me of a rat experiment where they train them to press a bar to get a pellet of food, resulting in a small dopamine hit. Each tatami puzzle is like that, usually quick to solve, but very satisfying, giving me a small jolt of pleasure. This game is repetitive with simple rules, but I will never tire of playing it. Kudos!

Even though you can play 200 levels for free, I was convinced to purchase after about 10 levels because I knew I would want to keep going and figured why not get the upgraded graphics now instead of later. Kaylee, it would be even better if there were some minor sounds to go along with the play such as clicks and shuffle effects. I like the little unexpected treats along the way. (Nice!). Does it really go to infinity?

Fact: only the coolest devs make rad games with no permissions/collection of info.

Fun game. Clean design. Wish it had music like Tetris does or another puzzle game called Ten that is no longer available. But this is worth the $5 to unlock everything.
