The advanced metric are non existent. The only thing this scale will tell me is my weight. Returning.
  • Great So Far!

I left the Apple ecosystem because their watch only lasted a few hours each day. So far, the transition has been great! However, it would be much better if you guys could implement widgets into the app. It would be nice to be able to see some of the metrics on my homescreen without opening the app. Just a thought. If anyone is considering making the jump from Apple to Garmin, I can assure you that you won’t miss out on anything. Their technology seems to be pretty top-notch!
  • Nutrition Update Sucks

Very disappointed in the latest update. The way calories burned and nutrition have been separated and creating multiple taps to get to MyFitnessPal data is a horrible decision and make it so much harder to tell if i am in deficit, surplus, or maintenance. Not good for an endurance athlete. I have been wanting to get a new device for some time and this update may accelerate it and have me going with new brand.

I bought a Garmin Edge 1050. It has a Bike alarm mode that is supposed to trigger a notification on your phone when your bike moves. It does not do this for new installs of 5.20.2.2. It also recorded a resting HR of 116 to Apple Health, which is interesting because it’s a bike computer, not a wearable, and because it recorded that value when my 1050 was off. Finally when trying to configure live track, it crashed three times. That said, I was able to get someone in the phone within 5 minutes. This used to be possible with Wahoo, but not anymore. They took some detailed notes, and followed up with an email to gather more information as I did extensive testing to troubleshoot (my hypothesis is that this is an installation bug). How you handle situations when things go wrong is important. Glad they were interested. We’ll see how fast they can turnaround a fix. Looking at the version history, it looks like they release an update once or twice a month on average.
  • MONTHLY BAD REVIEW

Yep, I come back here every month each time this pisses me off again. Latest: Open my app to see that the entire first page prior scrolling is now an ad for nutrition. A fun reminder that this used to be full of helpful stats created for a single glance. Now mine shows a giant red error bar, a MASSIVE ad, and at the very bottom, my latest workout with roughly zero info on it. Garmin, you continue to suck. Please just go back to helpful screens and info. This is one of the worst interfaces of any app I have ever experienced. To be 100% honest, the MOMENT a competitor makes a comparable running watch, you’ll never see me again. Previous: Looks like Garmin keeps deleting bad reviews so that’s fun to know. Garmin this version is still TERRIBLE. I am STILL not enjoying it or used to it. Just realized you killed the feature that changes the activity color in the calendar. Did I run that day? Bike that day? Lift? NO CLUE because they’re all the same color now. Is Elon running Garmin? Why is this so terrible. The amount of bots writing positive reviews are frightening.

  • Love the App But Fix the Calorie Counter

Been using garmin connect now going on three years. Love everything about it, from sleeping metrics to workouts, everything is great, works seamlessly and quickly. I recently purchased the Garmin Forerunner 970 and with that purchased Garmin Connect Plus for the calorie tracker. Compared to other calorie counter app that are paid for Garmin lacks. Everything is tedious and not intuitive. The only pro to the calorie tracker is taking photos of your meals. Creating a meal is timely and a hassle, when creating a meal, you can no longer scan your barcode or take photos of your food. It makes meal prepping and using the app, very difficult and nearly impossible. I would love to see a future update where this would be fixed and more user-friendly.
