The app supports group messaging as well as photo and voice messaging when paired with a compatible Garmin device (1). Automatic switching between internet, cellular, and satellite networks gives you the best connectivity and efficiency for all your messaging. When you have connectivity, the app will work seamlessly even if your inReach device is turned off. With the use of the LiveTrack™ feature, loved ones can follow your location in real time (2) and see data such as distance, time and elevation. • Terrible

We were not in cell reception, and I tried to use the Garmin device for a highway accident, and it would not connect. Accidents and emergencies are the entire reason I purchased the Garmin device. When we got back into cell reception, the message was still trying to send. In fact, I received a text message from our Dog Sitter before the Garmin app Sent the emergency message.

The process , which was easy and simple to add subscription to my InReach has changed and certainly not for better. I spent over an hour trying to find a way to subscribe for my InReach.

App crashes a lot, not super functional, really annoying given the high subscription costs
  • I haven’t gotten a message from PCT for days, but he says it is tells him that they are sent?

  • Nothing there. Can’t activate from there even though online it guides you there.

It’s terrible now. It needs to go back to the way it was before, it was much easier. I never leave reviews but had to this time.

This is useless. No one I know uses it.
  • Photos are disappointing

Overall the app is okay, but not being able to access photos outside of the app is frustrating. I was hoping I could post a photo from my device and then send that to email addresses. Sadly even the website doesn’t have an api or anything to export photos. The only way to view them is to login. I wish they spent more time fixing this.

Really frustrated. But the device in the app not cheap. But went all in so that I could communicate with my son who is hiking the Appalachian Trail. Have been unable to do so ever since he left I have reached out to Customer Support on four or five separate occasions, and they have not gotten back to me. Pitiful.

Can’t get past the verify phone number screen. Keep getting error “the phone number provided is blocked for verification.”
