  • DO NOT BUY IF YOU NEED CAC SIGNATURE ABILITY

PDF Expert is great if you need a bare-bones PDF editor. If you are in the US military/gov or need the ability to digitally sign documents via digital certificates/common access cards this is NOT SUPPORTED by PDF Expert. They hide this info and it is confusing when googling as none of the search results give you correct information. I reached out for a refund (~ 45 days post purchase) and was told to kick rocks (out ~ $140). Customer service was kind but not helpful. STAY AWAY!

One PDF editor to rule them all. I’ve been using PDF Expert for a number of years now and I have no complaints. Being able to export PDF files to various extensions is one of the most useful features, among the many other useful features. My only feature request is the ability to create booklets (see Foxit PDF for inspiration). Keep up the excellent work!

This is a very comprehensive PDF tool. I also use the big name PDF tool and PDF Expert has virtually all of the same features I need, and in my opinion the editing, OCR and export to Word functions are better than the behemoth brand.

This is great application and fit for purpose for normal day-to-day PDF needs.
  • Integral part of my workflow

I love the versatility and simplicity of this app. It’s somehow intuitive and easy to start using, yet immensely powerful with a high skill ceiling. I use it not only to manage PDFs but as my go-to PDF reader and annotator, which integrates seamlessly into my other note taking apps.
  • Not an Expert Tool

I use this app extensively and it struggles with large documents. Plus there are quirky things that happen. Needs some refinement.
  • Missing features

I’ve used PDF Expert for a long time now. One of its most important features to me is one of its accessibility features—Read Aloud. For some odd reason, the devs opted to remove this feature from the latest PDF Expert for macOS, but the feature remains on iOS/iPadOS. This effectively makes PDF Expert useless to me unless I want to try and “read” from it on a phone. I’m not blind, but I have a problem that affects reading so I use Read Aloud to mitigate that problem. When might we expect back this important accessibility feature?
  • I have to have an account?

I used to love this app. Now I have to have an account to use the app I bought? I am enraged. I don’t need a new stinking account for every single action I take in the world. Certainly not to work on PDFs. Congratulations, you’ve made this as obnoxious as Adobe Acrobat. What a waste. And as a bonus when you open this dumpster fire now you can’t close it until you sign into/up for an account or use the activity monitor to force close it. Apple needs to start IQ testing developers.
