  • Great game with wasted potential

As a huge MonHun fan and PoGo player I was really stoked to play this game. Within the first day I was extremely hooked. The combat feels amazing, the game’s group hunts are fun, and the monsters are giving me a MonHun fix away from the actual game. I installed in a weekend out of town where I was doing a lot of walking, but back home I usually use a ride share and public transit to get around. That’s when I realized the big failure of the game. This games motion detection feels WAY more brutal than PoGo’s. If you’re in the car with someone or on the subway, you can still spin pokestops and catch pokemon. This game COMPLETELY LOCKS YOU OUT. If you are in a hunt a thon you can play through, but otherwise, you are unable to play the game if you are moving quicker than 15 mph. I understand the desire to deter people from playing while driving, but you’ve completely kneecapped anyone who doesn’t want to dedicate walks outside their usual commute to play this game. Yet the style of this game is actually perfect for someone on public transit. If you’re looking for something to play on a walk, this is your game, if you’re looking to kill time on a commute, avoid this game at all costs.

  • Great combat but strict healing

Potions do not need to be pay walled. I feel MH really letting the fan base down on that one. You get punished for laggy connection and they expect you to pay top dollar… to be able to play at all I.e. potions that heal your character.

This game is designed to strip you of your money. Just as a baseline you cant use “zenny”(in game earn-able currency) to buy potions(basic healing item in every monster hunter game). Paintballs which in this game save monsters to hunt them later is a neat mechanic and love, you cannot buy them with zenny. To put into perspective both are so available to obtain in every other MH game that at a certain point you avoid picking them up to avoid them taking up limited slot in your inventory. Zenny is only used the forge/fortify weapons and armor. Of which take cost basically nothing. Rendering zenny useless. Potions and paintballs are integral to game play yet lock behind micro-transactions. If you want monster hunter on the go unfortunately you have to look at more expensive options or pray monster hunter mobile is released for the U.S.

I cannot believe you guys have the lance and the gun lance but not the switch axe I mean y’all got the charge blade but no switch axe I understand why you don’t have the insect glave since it has it’s own complicated mechanics but switch axe is kind of like the charge blade no?

2nd day and going strong. A lot of fun and strategy and it opens up as you progress. Great job Niantic and Capcom! Hopefully I don’t hit a paywall anytime soon…
