Description

Tap on the knob in Morse Code to enter text. Then copy the text to use in other apps. Or email it. No need to look at a tiny keyboard. If you know a little Morse Code, you can now enter some text without having to look directly at your iPhone. The Morse Code WPM (words per minute speed) is adjustable over a 5 to 45 WPM range so you can tap as fast or slow as you are capable. Both straight key and iambic keying (automatic dots and dashes) modes are supported. You can adjust the knob/dots to be on the left or right. Audio feedback is provided at a configurable frequency. If the timing of your keying (Morse Code "fist") is excellent, you can have the spaces between the words inserted automatically. Otherwise, this app provides a mode where spaces are suppressed. You can instead tap on the text field to enter a space, and stroke backward on the text field to delete mistakes. On devices running iOS 8, you can also install a 3-key (for dot, dash and space between characters) Silent Dot Dash Morse Code keyboard to use within other apps. Install using the iOS Settings app, under General:Keyboard:Keyboards:Add... This iOS 8 Custom keyboard extension currently does not produce any sound or tones. The extension keyboard does not collect or store any app or keyboard input data, nor does it connect to the network.

  • Great for <20 wpm

This app worked great to help me learn morse code. It DOES NOT include a visual morse code table to learn morse code with, so you will have to Google for one of those yourself. But it was great for letting me tap out the codes on a straight key until I could consistently get it to recognize all the codes I was typing. However that only worked up to 19 wpm. If I set the program to 20 wpm or higher I can't even get it to recognize an E or a T. I gave it 3 stars because it was great, up to a point.

Tap in a word without looking, then look to see if you were right. Then the app can play it back to you so you can hear it with "perfect" timing.

Works as expected. Great app for brushing up on your sending if your CW is rusty. I like the keyboard feature where you can clean up your text. It would be nice to be able to adjust the length of time before a space is automatically inserted (also would like to see a direct to SMS button). I'm looking forward to seeing what new features you will add in the updates!

This app is great. I'm learning morse code so this is exactly what I need. You can tap out morse code and if you mess up, there'a a way to go in and use a keyboard to fix what you messed up. I especially like that you can play back what you've typed so you can "hear" (in CW) what you're typing. My only problem is that since I've updated my iPod Touch to the latest version, it doesn't operate correctly. It will allow me to key in some text and listen to it one time. After that I have to actually shut down my iTouch in order to hear any sound again. And yes, I mean I have to back out of the app and power down the iTouch. But I'm sure that is a bug that will get worked out and is only happening because there has not been an update since iTouch last came out with its latest version. FYI, my version of iTouch is 4.0.0 (8A400). But other than this specific issue I'm experiencing, I'm happy with the app. It's been a great tool in helping me learn CW.
