It's cool, but like most of the record player apps in the store, it needs some work! The positives... Very nice interface! It combines the iPod music player with a record player very nicely and offers easy access to your music (albums, artists, etc). Negatives... first the price, $2 is too much! RetroTunes is $1 and I like it a little more. Next, animations could be improved... The needle doesn't move to or from the record, but rather just appears there - it looks sloppy. Some recommendations... Allow us to drag the needle to different parts of the song. Add some options to the app, for example an option to remove the album name from the record. Add vinyl noise & pops. Add in sleeve art (like RetroTunes) where we get to see the record slide from the sleeve and be placed on the turntable. Finally, the scratching is just lame in all of these apps ... since you're not able to effect the actual song it just sounds cheesy. It seems silly to have a button taking up space for such a silly feature. I hope the developer takes sone of this criticism to heart and I hope this review was helpful to prospective buyers. Had there been more reviews I would have passed on this at $2.

This is it! Don't look any where else. I'm very happy with it. I like to see the future update (choice of styles) and equalizer button. Thanks for making it available.
  • So far the best of the available record player apps....

This is almost perfect considering it allows you to pull from your existing iTunes Library. Many of the others require you go through some fangled Wifi interface and upload your tunes seperately (sometime in another audio format). This just creates so much additional work as to make the whole process not worth it. I'd like to see the option for different types of record players to choose from! Most important would be to add the familiar background noises that accompany using a record player (needle noise, static, hum..). These are the bits that help give the impression of a more analog sound. Thanks for building this!
