Description

Keep your mind sharp with word and logic puzzles from New York Times Games. Free to download, the app offers new puzzles daily for every skill level. App Features and Games: NEW: STRANDS Our latest game lets you find hidden words and uncover the day’s theme. It’s the word search you know, with a twist. WORDLE Play the original Wordle — created by Josh Wardle — in our app. Guess the 5-letter word in 6 tries or less, and analyze your guesses with Wordle Bot. SPELLING BEE Is scrambling your strong suit? Play the daily Spelling Bee and see how many words you can make with 7 letters. THE CROSSWORD Subscribers can play the same daily puzzle that’s printed in The New York Times, in our app. Crosswords increase in difficulty throughout the week. CONNECTIONS Group words with a common thread. See if you can do it with four mistakes or fewer. SUDOKU Looking for a numbers game, minus the math? Play Sudoku and fill each 3x3 set of boxes with numbers 1 to 9. Play a new puzzle every day in easy, medium or hard mode. THE MINI CROSSWORD The Mini is all the fun of The Crossword, but you can solve it in seconds. These word puzzles don’t increase in difficulty throughout the week and feature simpler clues. TILES Unwind while you match elements in the day’s pattern — the key is to make consecutive matches. LETTER BOXED Create words using letters around the square. Letter Boxed is another fun way to test your word-making skills. STATS Track your progress for The Crossword, Wordle and Spelling Bee. For The Crossword, monitor your average solve times, see how many puzzles you can solve in a row, and more. Plus follow your streak on Wordle, and track how often you reach each level in Spelling Bee. LEADERBOARD Add friends to your leaderboard and follow daily scores across Wordle, Connections, Spelling Bee and the Mini. Plus, explore your score history. PUZZLE ARCHIVE Subscribers can now solve over 10,000 past puzzles from Wordle, Connections, Spelling Bee and The Crossword. It’s a amazing game but the only thing bad about it was if you don’t want to spend money then you only get to play once a day for each game but overall a great game

So I was playing wordle and the key board is really really really bad for iPad it’s super annoying and hard like I was trying to type “Light” cause that was the word and I kept messing up I would either type “liiht”or “light” or lighh like come on just let me type light and also I wanted to play crossword but it didn’t let me it said I had to pay so annoying I’m deleting the app and going on the websites and individual apps just annoying

Most of the games are fun, but if you are doing these for a competition amongst friends it’s all in luck when it comes to Connections. Some categories make sense but realistically it looks like 1-2 categories are thought of but then the remaining are just made up so the random words they chose fit. Could use more to thought!
  • The games are great but the app is not stable.

When selecting a specific game on this app, it often gives an error message (“oops, something went wrong; try again later”) or just twirls endlessly trying to open the selection. The problem with both of these scenarios is that there is no option to go back to the prior screen & we are stuck there. Minimizing/closing the app and going back to it doesn’t work and even turning off the phone and back on doesn’t usually clear the stuck app. I just give up and wait a few hours to try again. The games are great when the app works.
  • Streak Reset

Long time subscriber with a high crossword puzzle streak. Last week I completed Thursdays puzzle. On Saturday the streak was fine but the stats showed something completely different. Checked the archive and couldn’t find an incomplete puzzle. Later on Saturday, Thursdays puzzle showed it was incomplete but I have proof it was completed (I share a screenshot with a friend everyday). Now the streak is gone. The app updated on Thursday so something is buggy with it. I hope someone can fix this ASAP.

I love that you could go into the archive and do the old puzzles. I am not that skilled so I enjoy doing all the Monday and Tuesday puzzles.

    Love it.
  • Not all games and not consistent updates

I paid for a membership earlier this year. Working night shift, I like some of the brain stim games to keep things wide awake. I really enjoy sudoku. The paid membership boasts being able to play past games/puzzles but it’s only for a few of them-mainly the crossword which I’m not a fan of. There are only 3 sudoku games each day…and they don’t even update at the same time. It’s always earlier than midnight so I got into a habit of playing them at a certain time…usually around 10 is when they update. Well def not weekends and holidays. It was updated by 6pm on a Saturday to the next day’s games and then you lost the prior day even with the paid membership. So now I only do the free and find other apps to get my extra games in.
  • Some puzzles reset too early

It’s ridiculous that the sudokus are replaced so early the day before. Why not switch them at midnight like the others? Today it reset at 6pm! Let people have the full day.
