  • Algorithm skewed towards professional?

I don’t ask for much. Cleveland Browns and Guardians but really like college sports. I chose Cornell , both Men and Women. No mention of yesterday’s National Championship in lacrosse. You’d think it would show up in my feed or an article. You can do better
  • Read the Terms and Conditions!

A combination of auto renewal and no refund after being charged a much higher price (with no pro-active notification) and 14 days pass from “renewal date” I am no held hostage to this account until next year. The “don’t ask; don’t tell” business practice is out of touch with reality and they have lost this customer forever….and of course; they really don’t care
  • Adding video to the app was a terrible choice

Really harms what differentiates the athletic from espn and other outlets. Making video native the feed defeats the purpose imo and will probably make me delete the app in the long term
  • Used to be great

This app used to be fantastic. Now it’s at least half full of garbage stories and the constant pop ads you have to swipe off multiple times just to keep reading make it miserable
  • Cant even find all D1 schools listed because they arent

I don't expect coverage on 90% of division on schools, but I expect the ability to search them and find the score for University of Southern Indiana which is a D1 school

Now it’s mid and not worth the $$$
  • Trash

Used to be a fun indy feeling sport focused company. Now it’s the same quality daily team articles you can get from actual small local journalists for free with podcasts, and the real thing the athletic sells is trash “celebrity” sports “journalists” and take artists just trying to start drama and get engagement from whatever athlete or other sports talking head they made mad
  • Garbage

    App is difficult to cancel
  • Violating State Law w/ Autorenewal

    By CrayzeeGuy
The Athletic/NY Times processed an auto renewal without giving proper notification, violating NJ State Law. They continue to put the blame on me, the consumer, even though legal protections exist. They fail to realize law is more powerful than a company’s own terms, and continue to claim the email went to my spam folder without proof, thus this is not a valid defense.
  • The website is better

I deleted the app for two reasons: it doesn’t allow you to zoom in on images, which is necessary when I’m looking at tactical analyses; and comment trees are not collapsible, which makes scrolling through comments challenging.
