    At best the Athletic have a a lightweight sports source. Best attributes are the commenters and the wild thoughts.

    I seriously have left all of one or two comments, and for whatever the reason is I can’t leave comments now, (but I can certainly leave a review obviously). The only thing I can think of as to why, is there was a troll leaving ridiculous posts, and comments and I told him to get lost, in so many words). So if that’s how it goes, no warning, no referral to code of conduct, nothing. Just blocked I guess. So watch your tongue. In my defense, some people do need to be told that. Period!

    Originally subscribed to The Athletic for sports content. I’ve seen political content on there now way more lately. I will not be renewing my subscription.

    I liked the app when it was first started but man have they screwed the people that started with them. The LV Raiders had 4 beat writers when this site started now they have none. In the middle of the NFL season! If it was the 49ers, they would have moved heaven and earth to make sure they had coverage. I paid for this site specifically for good Raiders coverage but will not be renewing after my annual expires.

    Highlights: Excellent writers. Lowlights: Pretty well the whole app. Especially the ability to write and post comments, and the algorithm (if there is one) that re-promoted already read articles.
