  • Weird Bug & In-Game Notifications

    I love the content from The Athletic and appreciate the new updates to the app. However, I’ve encountered an issue with the iPad version: I can't change the Home Screen app logo style. The changes don’t save or take effect after selection. I hope this isn’t an issue with my iPad, as I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app several times and ensured it is up-to-date. Also, the sport/league/team news and article notifications are great, but I would love to see those expanded upon. I would love more customizable, live, in-game notifications for my favorite teams.

    I have no fn clue how the algorithm for this company’s app works You read one Cleveland browns article and the news drops never end I can’t with the athletic anymore Or the times. Everytime I try and cancel they drop the price

    Doing my usual end of the year password updates. Updated my NYT password and now can’t log into The Athletic’s app. Gave it 15 minutes and tried again, still no luck. Very annoying issue.

    The coverage is great and in depth. The app itself is getting worse. The articles are now often out of date or irrelevant to my selected interests. The top articles are days or weeks old. Why is the first article not about my selected team’s game from earlier today? Why is it a different league and day sold at that?

    Originally subscribed to The Athletic for sports content. I’ve seen political content on there now way more lately. I will not be renewing my subscription.

    Being constantly fed stories that are several days to over a week old at the top of my feed, with seemingly no way to remove them other than opening them and scrolling to the bottom so they’re “read,” is really annoying. Trust me - I’m not reading those stories for a reason.
