  • Almost perfect recipe manager

This app is a wonderful tool to keep and import recipes though once you have more than about five dozen recipes, it’s challenging to find anything, there’s no search function, and no auto categorization, so unless you remember the original name of the recipe, it takes too long to find it

I’ve tried them all. Mela is an absolute game-changer in my kitchen. It combines beautiful design with intuitive navigation and sets a new standard among recipe apps! I’ve used numerous other apps, but Mela triumphs. Its clean interface makes browsing a joy, while the features ensure that it more than just looks the part. Every recipe is well organized, and the app works flawlessly, making the cooking process more enjoyable. After a long search, Mela has proven to be the perfect companion in my kitchen. It’s rare to find an app that combines beauty and functionality in this way. Mela is a revelation that any home cook should not miss. Five stars all the way!

Have used this for a long time and liked it. One day turned on iCloud sync and without warning it deleted all my data. Years of data gone. Developer never responded to support requests.
  • Horrible user interface

It’s a great idea but I just spent roughly 45 minutes trying to put in one recipe from the Notes app. (Apple). The copy and paste function is one of the most frustrating features. And short of retyping the entire recipe into the app, I finally gave up. I had a rather complicated recipe with a long instruction list. I pasted the recipe into its entirety into the instruction area. Each time I tried to move the ingredients or nutrition from the spot it was pasted into to the appropriate place in the recipe template the copy function was impossible to use. Or rather the selection of the text itself. You can only copy the length of the screen. Scrolling to copy is impossible. The keyboard stays active and gives only a tiny area to copy. You can’t dismiss the keyboard or the whole copy disappears. Why in the heck would I want to use an app when I can organize things by name, title etc in an app like Notes? I have hundreds of recipes I have written and more I have found and collected. They are already typed so why is it so hard to put them into this Mela app? I can’t recommend at all.

App developer everywhere should be taking notes on Mela’s user experience! Mela was recommended by a friend and has drastically changed the way I approach recipe gathering and cooking in general. The user experience is very smooth, from uploading new recipes, to searching and categorizing, to timing meal planning... My thanksgiving planning time and stress this year was cut in half by using Mela. There are some instances where recipes on the page aren’t captured or need additional formatting, but those are the only small hiccups I’ve encountered, which is astounding. The app features just work so seamlessly overall. If I could love an app, I think it would be Mela. Thanks for creating this work of art, dev team!

this app is everything i ever wanted. it stores all of my favorite recipes, making meal planning so easy. you can also subscribe to your favorite foodie blogs’ feeds, and you can choose things from the feed instead of going to each individual website. this is amazing, i’ll never be without new recipes for everything. also the interface is so nice and very aesthetically pleasing. i’m so glad i found this app!

This app has pretty much everything I’ve looked for in a recipe collection app and works fantastic … unless you’re looking to share your recipes with another person. I was hoping to share a single recipe collection with my wife, but unfortunately the functionality to share across iCloud accounts doesn’t work. Whether this is an issue with the app or something on apples side, I don’t know, but safe to say it doesn’t work. Additionally I messaged the app developer, hoping for some clarity and they haven’t responded back. Here’s hoping they resolve this issue.
