Description

Keep control of your news reading with Reeder Classic, RSS reader and read later client in one app, now with support for iCloud syncing. FEEDS Sync all your feeds and articles with iCloud. Reeder Classic comes with a built-in RSS/Feeds service which will keep everything in sync on all your devices. Of course, this is optional. You can still just use one of the many third-party services supported by Reeder or just RSS (without sync). READ LATER This is Reeder's built-in read later service which stores all your data securely in iCloud. A sharing extension allows you to add links from outside of Reeder. BIONIC READING A higher dimension of reading. With Bionic Reading you read texts with more focus, awareness, and sustainability. Read more about Bionic Reading at bionic-reading.com. MARK AS READ ON SCROLL With version 5, Reeder finally supports marking items as read while scrolling. Off by default, this can be enabled on a per-account basis. READER VIEW Enter Reader View (for feed items and read later links that support this) for a clutter-free reading experience directly in Reeder's article viewer. You can enable "Automatic Reader View" on a per-feed basis to always load items of a feed with Reader View. SUPPORTED THIRD-PARTY SERVICES Feedbin, Feedly, FeedHQ, NewsBlur, The Old Reader, Inoreader, BazQux Reader, FreshRSS, Instapaper and Pocket.

  • No longer supports FreshRSS

I used this app happily for several months. After an update it stopped working with FreshRSS. I tried removing and re-adding FreshRSS and Reeder says there’s something wrong with the Internet connection. I checked by FreshRSS API and everything is healthy.

I have literally tried all the other RSS readers out there, including Newsify, Fiery, ReadKit, News Explorer, Artykul, Lire, Inoreader, and countless others not worth mentioning. I've also spent more money than I needed to, trying to find the best one. I'm giving Reeder 5 stars because it works so well on my Mac, iPad, and iPhone. It's currently the best that I've tried. With that said, there are still two features that I desperately need to make this perfect, so I hope the app developers are reading. The first, is an AI summarize button. Some articles are so long in the tooth and have so much fluff, I have to spend a minute (at least) reading 3/4 into an article to find the meat and potatoes. It's a complete waste of time. This button would save me countless hours per week. I'm happy to add in my OpenAI API key to send the text and wait a second to get a summary. Please add this ASAP. The second feature I desperately need, and Inoreader does this best, is the ability to keyword filter/exclude. I'm tired of hearing about certain topics covered by all the RSS feeds I subscribe to. Mostly politics. If I could add key words to get those topics out of my life, it would reduce the noise and make my life happier. Please add these two things and I promise I will never look for another RSS reader ever again.

I share the ICloud feed on my devices. It was working fine until my Mac stopped syncing the feed. Upn reinstalling the app, I can no longer connect my iCloud feed.

Although I still think this is the Best RSS Reader App for macOS, after a recent update, the iCloud Account shows that it's syncing, but never actually syncs. I use Feedly, too, and this still works fine- just the iCloud sync has stopped working, and for me on two Macs, an iPad, and an iPhone.
  • Is the Developer ok?

I sent this via email to the developer (using the form on his site). I hope that he is ok. I love the app, but one main feature that i used all the time no longer works. _____ First, I'm seriously wondering if you have been injured or something else going on. For an app that is number 1 it is perplexing that public complaints that you don’t provide support go un-replied to. I genuinely hope that you are ok. If you are going through a rough patch personally or something else, I hope you are ok. For the bug, I keep getting an error that says A server with the specified hostname could not be found. I have the extension installed in safari. on a page that it detects an rss feed, the icon goes from grayed out to blue. but when I select the button instead of getting the option to subscribe in reeder I get this error. That was a great feature since it allowed me to see that many sites do have an rss feed even if not advertised. Please fix this if you can. Thanks.

Can you take a look at this problem? Right-clicking the link in macOS 14.3.1 (23D60) will cause Reeder to get stuck.

Been using Reeder for years on iOS and macOS. Never had a problem on iOS, but the macOS client has always been prone to crashing. Every time I'd select "send report to apple" but it's still recurring after so many years. I felt compelled to leave this review here in case the developer might take an interest.
