I don’t like that you need a membership for things 4 stars because of that
  • Made me more curious of the natural world

I appreciate this app, it’s like having a bug expert in your pocket. No longer approach all bugs like they’re dangerous—I’ve learned some spiders are more of the curious type, so instead of immediately trying to swat them away, I like having the gentle ones around. It’s fun! Identifying new bugs gives the same thrill of collection.
  • Charged anyway.

I did the free trial and turned off the membership renewal days before the trial was over. I ended up being charged $30 4 days after the renewal date the app had listed. Go to my subscriptions on my account and it’s still listed as cancelled.

I scanned a bug and it said it was an ant and then I uploaded the same picture to chatGPT and chatGPT said it was a gnat and upon further research it turns out it was in-fact a gnat.

Great tool to use, awesome app for adults and kids to enjoy. I would give it five stars but I can’t because it’s not free.

I found a large amount of these inside my green waste trash can…how can I get rid of them?
  • Not accurate

The proposed species do not look anything like the spider I photographed.
  • Needed this to identify bites... Costs a lot of money.

I needed this to identify a bug bite that I didn't want to bother the doctor with (and have to pay a lot of money for anyways) if it was potentially harmless, turns out like all the other apps it costs a TON of money ($30!!!) to unlock that feature. I'm sure this app is great, hence a higher rating then the other one, but it is very expensive to use it for what I actually downloaded it for. Will keep looking for a free bug bite identifier.

I love this app so much because I love insects. For the most part, it has been pretty accurate, but some times it gets off with the species of certain types of bugs. It also doesn’t pressure you to buy the premium version every single second which is awesome because I don’t want to.

My friend told me about this app and it’s fundamentally changed me. I’m constantly searching for new bugs like they’re Pokémon. You can add the bugs you’ve found to your bug collection. Last night I was chasing a cockroach around the bar I was at. Today I had to get really close to a wasp to scan it. I feel truly alive. Aside from competing on who can “catch” the most bugs, you could also use it to identify potential infestations in your home. 10/10 app.
