  • Fun but there are a lot of bugs

So I dont usually leave reviews but for this game I had to. It’s a fun game with all the ship varieties and characters you can unlock and it all looks well modeled and animated but for me the game has been glitching like crazy. I even tried reinstalling a couple time and still the glitches pop up. First, the game stalls at odd times. Pink squares pop up around asteroid fields randomly. Finally, there are loading screens that dont go away and force you to restart the game eventually. I can send screen shots later if needed. Im no sure if im the only one this is happening to but if these issues can be fixed, this is a 5 star game for me. Thanks.

This game is all about getting beat up buy P2win players. You have to grind to get materials which is literally on 8-10 hour timers where other players just come by and kill you. They call it a neutral zone but it’s not, it’s just a bully fest. The packs you buy in the store are Ridiculously overpriced and last only a few seconds so there’s no help there, not exaggerating you can easily drop $20 USD and have NOTHING to show for it. Like who the EFFF does Scopely think they are?

You will not get any more of my time, energy, & money. It’s unfortunate that it is allowed that all people do on this platform is attack other gamers without letting them defend themselves. It fact you encourage this. I am a huge fan of the Star Trek franchise but the actions of a few just left a bad feeling with me. To anyone considering to download & play this game, just don’t. Go rewatch the movies, television shows, or read the books. Your long term mental health will be better off.
  • Game is a money-grab

I’ve been playing this game for a couple of years. It’s a money-grab by Scopely with a very glitchy and, at times, unstable game. The more you pay (on a monthly basis) the stronger your ships. In PVP, it no longer requires skill, only spending the most to beat your opponent. Characters are released to improve your abilities; however, you don’t get enough shards to unlock the character unless you pay $49-99 dollars per character. Ships are offered but at a $$ price. Many of the events offered require $$ to enter or complete. Scopely offers “primes” at $99/each to boost your abilities. The only true 100% positive thing is if you get into a good alliance, fellow players do help each other. I’m not sure this is the best representation of the true Star Trek. Bullying in the game happens; however, even the bullies lose interest over time. Bullying is not policed - rather encouraged so that you spend more to get a bigger ship. There are a lot of changes I and others have recommended to Scopely in their surveys - but, few have been adopted. I understand that a gaming company has to make money to produce a great product. The real question is how much is enough? What is the monthly amount needed by each player versus forced $$ grabs for greater profits.
  • 3 stars for reliability

I've played this on android and apple, and it does not work well on apple. Its a fairly good way to kill time, but I have to close and reopen the game as it will fail to load elements frequently. On or off wifi doesn't matter, the game will not load between transitions, I've even had the entire UI disappear mid mission. As for the ad content and such, its ok, better than most games and seems FTP friendly. Also, if you're hoping this is at all like the old pc game under the same name, it has no relation.

  • Forced PVP

This is a whales game. I have loved this game, despite the endless grinding. Then PVP was forced on everyone, so as a new player that’s trying establish themselves, I get quests like “mine x number of resources”, only to get attacked and loose everything I’ve spent hours upon hours mining. You get research times of 1 day plus, so you need resources only to have someone someone take them away, because you can’t sit on your phone watching your ships and playing a game 24/7. They should have an option to opt out of PVP, so people like me that don’t want to participate in PVP for quest assignments, or loose everything they set themselves up to accomplish get destroyed, just to repair your ship for an hour+ to enjoy the game. I’ve sent ships out for the next quest, only to come back online to have them destroyed and needing repair, which can take an hour+. Please let people opt out of PVP and don’t have quests to destroy people in order to continue to receive seasonal rewards. You shouldn’t need to play the game 24/7 to keep what you have earned.

I have a newer iPhone so I know it’s not my phone…. Man it’s so annoying out of nowhere it will just bug out and you have to close the app and open it back up. UPDATE: to be completely fair this hasn’t happened anymore, but I don’t like to delete reviews so here it is
