Used to be my number 1 app. Would recommend it to everyone. No reservations. Now I wouldn’t wish it on someone in Dante’s lowest circle of Heck.
  • Unusably slow laggy trash

The iOS version is fine, I’m a big fan. But the Mac version is absolute and complete garbage. It’s so slow it’s like time traveling back to 1999 and using an a computer remote by VNC over an ISDN line. Actually, it might be worse than that. We’re talking MULTIPLE SECONDS for ordinary clicks to register. I cannot emphasize enough how trash this laggy app is. How is Apple even allowing this in the App Store?

I am a paid user. The desktop app used to be swift and fast. Now the app launch, navigation and even a simple operation like copy password has been operating dead slow. Very dissappointed. If this continues, I will have to change my password manager.
  • Super Buggy - Horrible

This is really a bad product. It seems to be extremely backwards. Buggy, bad interface, the directions in the help doesn’t seem to have been updated in a while. All in all, a really bad product.

Many design decisions that ensh!itified the experience for me. Subscription only, you cannot use an offline password database, no longer fills multiple fields as part of some logins, no longer fills TOTP passwords. I’m sure their decisions net them more money in the end. Decided to switch to Bitwarden since I have to keep my password db in the cloud anyway.

Knock off version of the real 1password. Could not even delete off my computer!
  • Poor Support

I’m a long time 1Password customer and have been plagued by an annoying bug that will not allow me to use Touch ID without using Apple Watch. Development is unable to or unwilling to prioritize the fix and support is less than helpful/empathetic to the issue. I was considering purchasing 1Password for my midsized company but am pumping the brakes.

The 1Password service is great. The app not so much. I hate that you need both the app AND the extension for each browser you use (Safari and Chrome for me) to be able to use it smoothly. Even then you need to keep the app open for the extensions to remain unlocked, otherwise you need to re-enter you password every time you need to use it. Then the app itself takes forever to open and pop up the password prompt window or trigger the biometrics input (Apple Watch for me).
  • Terrible User Experience and Finicky

It’s all kinds of weird that there’s STILL the problem that frequently prevents fingerprint unlock/Touch ID from unlocking 1Password, which is bad user experience (UX). Touch ID will just randomly stop working to unlock 1Password, requiring users to enter their 1Password Master Password to use Touch ID—very much ironic and completely defeats the purpose of Touch ID. Would be great if 1Password could finally care enough to fix this annoying problem, or simply inform its customers that it refuses to fix this problem.
