Description

Nintendo Switch Parental Controls™ is a free app that allows you to easily monitor your child's use of the Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch system. ◆ A Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch system is required to use this app. ■ Set a daily play-time limit You can set a timer for how long your child can play for each day. You can select different settings for each day of the week, and even set it so that the game is suspended on the system as soon as the play-time limit is reached. ■ Manage your child's GameChat settings If you allow your child to use GameChat, you can manage which friends they're approved to chat with and decide when they can use video chat. ◆ The GameChat feature can only be used on Nintendo Switch 2 systems. ■ View your child's play activity You can easily check which games your child plays and for how long. You'll also get a monthly overview of their gameplay activity. ■ Set restrictions based on your child's age You can set up age-based restrictions on the games your child can play and the features they can use. Attention: ● To use the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app, a parent or guardian (aged 18 or above) will need to have a Nintendo Account. ● Purchasing restrictions, including restrictions on purchasing products and services in Nintendo eShop, can be set up in the Nintendo Account settings. ● To make use of all of the features and settings available in the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app, all linked Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch systems need to be using the latest system version. ● For details about the GameChat feature, please visit support.nintendo.com.

I still have to manually take the switch and sync it to the update I push for time. Tried to give my son just 15 min before bed and go do the dishes. It never synced up and he stayed up playing the entire time I was doing chores before bed. So I might as well set a timer and do it myself.

It provides real time updates on my son’s gaming activities, allowing me to stay informed about everything happening as it unfolds. The convenience of controlling the settings from my phone is fantastic. I feel much secure knowing I can control his gaming experience easily. I highly recommend for parents who are looking for peace of mind.

I signed up for the switch 2 but I’m getting one on July 1 so i have to wait until July comes.

Besides refining the look to not look a decade old like the last version, nothing really changed. You still have to set each day as a 0 minute time limit in order to have a passcode to get into your switch, and that means not knowing how much play time you’ve had. The functionality of this app is so laughably limited.

This app makes you cancel extensions in order to change the scheduling. This doesn’t make a lot of sense. It just makes it more difficult for you to set a schedule for your child.

Helpful if trying to manage one child’s screen time. Would be so much more useful/easier to use if screen limits could be assigned per user. Currently limits are assigned to the device so you cannot provide limits on a per child basis if you have multiple using the same device.

I can control my gameplay so easily and it’s fun that I can control it for my mom knowing it’s so fun. It’s good you have access to your mom‘s phone and stuff and it’s funny how you can switch me wash and it helps your child a.k.a. me a child Addicted addicted to playing Fortnite the best game in the world

The new update now prevents you from being able to suspend limits for just one day. Now need to change limits permanently each day. Completely defeats the purpose of parent controls

This is great if you need to know what your children are doing on their switch. You can set limits and make it, so they can’t access certain things.
