  • Won’t autofill Safari ever

What a downgrade! It never prompts me to autofill logins. I have to search the vault and then find the login and manually copy / paste. It’s a hassle because it used to be so seamless and now it’s a complete nightmare. Whichever team developed this extension did a terrible job and I would fire them and never use them again. I can’t believe that this extension as-is could have passed quality assurance testing. Boggles my mind!

This application used to work well but since the recent upgrade it’s unusable. I can sign in to my account and the passwords are there but they don’t show up in the websites I go to so I have to manually re-enter them. Also it’s impossible to reach support.
  • Definitely a big step backwards

I’m super surprised and disappointed in the decision to get rid of the desktop version of LastPass and make it just a Safari extension. If the team wanted to do a Safari extension that’s cool but keep the desktop version too. I’m not going to go into what I think doesn’t work well. I think that’s well covered in the reviews. I’ve been a long time LastPass user and am now looking at transitioning my team over to another password manager.
  • What happened? Have you been taken over by bad management and vibe-coders from Fiverr?

Last Pass was my first love for password managers. I loved it so much, I volunteered to pay for it, to support it and to see it prosper. Then the crapification began, slowly removing functionality and introducing bugs that still linger to this day. Add the 2 minor security breaches, which is meant to be its entire raison d'etre. Now 8 years later, my company pays for me to have a family license, and it’s still not worth it. Instead of finishing this review… I am going to spend the rest of my time googling the steps to switch to another password manager

Don't do it no matter what they tell you. It's terrible compared to the older desktop app and extension.
  • LastPass for Safari Downgrade

Been a longtime user of LastPass but LastPass for Safari is a big downgrade. Big hassle to log onto LastPast-even master password entered still gives a notice to you email with multiple attempts to log on unsuccessful. Should be “LastA—“ Rather than wasting this space, reviewers suggest any other password manager to use. This new version is giving me pause on whether I want to stay with it.
  • Buggiest App Ever

I’ve used Last Pass for years and liked it, but when the new version for Safari came out, I saw the bad reviews and didn’t install Last Pass for Safari right away, figuring they’d eventually address all the bugs. Wrong. Even now, months after the app was introduced, it works correctly only part of the time, which is completely unacceptable for a password manager. Caveat emptor.
  • No autofill

This extension does not do autofill or automatically search the website. All it does is sit in your toolbar as an instance of your vault that you have to manually search and copy things out of. This does not have any of the convenient functionality that LastPass has included for years.
  • Irritating!

I am a mac user and have been for over a decade. However, I don't use Safari for anything. I relied on having the desktop app to use LastPass' full functionality. Now I can't open my vault outside of a Safari browser window or use the password generator in Firefox. My vault won't even open through the website in Firefox - only Safari. I don't appreciate being shoehorned into using the native Mac browser just because LastPass assumes all Mac users love Safari!
  • Horrible

Heed advice from others and do NOT transition to the LastPass for Safari and delete your desktop app for Mac. As others have noted, the extension constantly requires me to log in, does not “remember” my device, does not autofill stored passwords. You can continue to use Mac desktop app, but it is “no longer supported” and, considering LastPass’ security breaches, it’s a risk to keep using the unsupported desktop all. I have used LastPass for years—first through my company—now I pay for Premium. But I’ll be seeking a better product. Sad.
