  • Barely usable

The usability of this thing has taken a nosedive over the last couple of years. First of all, if it works to begin with it’s horrendously slow. Next, I keep having to sign in, even though my machine basically never shuts down. Finding passwords, creating new, everything is counterintuitive. Want to generate a password for a non-website? Takes me 10 minutes of searching every time, because it’s under anything but “Passwords”. I’m moving to 1Pass.
  • Zero stars. Canceled.

I used to be a fan but this is the worst decline in a product experience I have ever experienced. I can't even begin to describe how broken this app is in Safari. I finally canceled my family plan.

i imported password data from my previous password manager and all but the user names came in. So, I spent hours copying and pasting them in. Now, I find that if a password needs to be changed, it will only copy and paste the new password once. It won’t work for the second instance that websites require you put it in. AARGH!!!!!
  • Safari extension is unusable

I’ve used LastPass for years on all sorts of devices… Windows laptops, Android phones + tables, iPhone + iPad, Chrome extension, Firefox extension. It has been a consistently great experience until this Safari extension. I have to sign in CONSTANTLY. Options like “do not prompt me for my master password for 15 minutes” don’t work. It is just an incredibly poor experience.
  • So frustrating and getting worse and worse

I’ve been using LastPass with Chrome and Safari for years but recently the UX is getting worse and worse, approaching unusable. I feel like all I do anymore is randomly sign in to the app over and over again and the sign-in flow is different every time. This morning after entering my password in the Safari extension, it’s asking me to authenticate with my “FIDO2 device” and won’t allow me to continue — I don’t even know what that is. I’ve just canceled my plan and will move on to BitWarden or Apple Passwords.
  • Long-time user but it’s about time for me to bail on LastPass

I’ve been using LastPass for as long as I can remember. Until about 8 years ago I worked almost exclusively on the Windows platform, where the LastPass issues were few and far between. I switched over to Macs because the software seemed so much more stable. No more “BSOD” issues. But in so doing I couldn’t have envisioned the litany of issues I would have when trying to use LastPass on my various Macs. Even now, almost daily, the LastPass extension for Safari just stops working, requiring ridiculous amounts of hoop-jumping to bring it back to life. Uninstall the extension, close and reopen safari, reinstall the extension, log back in, open all my previous tabs, etc., etc., etc., and hope against hope that the extension might work again. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn’t. I guess it’s time to finally fully embrace Apple and let Apple Passwords act as my password vault. I have always loved LastPass’s cross-platform functionality, its ability to allow me to organize my passwords into folders, plus many of its other useful features, but the inconvenience of the super-unstable Safari extension is absolutely mind-numbing. I can’t continue to waste time troubleshooting this product over and over. Thanks for the memories, LastPass. If you ever get this truly solved I might return, but for now I’ve had enough.
  • This is borderline terrible

You have to log into the extension every 5 minutes. I've had to call customer service twice in the last couple of months. My current problem is that the safari extension went into offline mode and now while on the phone with customer service it won't let me log in at all. Considering switching to another password manager.
  • HORRIBLE

I have been a premium user of LastPass for several years and heavily rely on it for my business. The original App/Vault was frustrating as it would require me to close the app/vault and relaunch it in order to fill my passwords on safari from time to time. It stopped working so I uninstalled it and discovered I had to now install this app…it is GARBAGE. The extension doesn’t work. It won’t auto fill passwords or usernames. I essentially have to open my vault in a different webpage and copy and paste each username and password. Time consuming, more work and I will ultimately cancel this service all together.
  • Bring Back the Mac App

I’ve been using LastPass for 5+ years after using Dashlane (switched due to pricing increase and I liked the family subscription option that LastPass offered). The extension-only approach is incredibly frustrating and only occasionally works smoothly. Not sure why the change but I only use safari for certain things, so I now need to install multiple extensions for multiple browsers all to access the same lastpass vault - not particularly intuitive or user friendly. It’s often faster to use the Continuity feature in MacOS to copy info from the iOS app and pasting it into my MacOS device. It’s insanity. I may be switching after my annual subscription ends.
  • Still Terrible after all this time

LastPass decides to get rid of its functional and useful Mac application and replaces it with this extension that works 20% of the time. It is as if LastPass is doing their absolute best to ensure the extension is unusable. I’m shopping for a replacement that offers some amount of reliability.
