  • Used to be great. Now it’s awful

For many years I’ve used voice dream. It’s helped me “read” while walking, taking the subway, doing laundry, working out… But I just got a new phone and in the newest version, the “Aaron” voice has disappeared. It was the only good voice. There are terrible Ai-enhanced voices and terrible other voices. But no good voices anymore.
  • I’m glad they continue to support Legacy Users

While there was a hiccup last year with the direction the developers were going, I’m glad they continue to allow legacy paid users access to the original functionality and keep the app usable Happy to see new offerings and features behind their monthly pay wall billing format - all for the company trying out what’s best for them - but I prefer one time payments rather than a subscription service wherever possible This app makes it so much easier to get through ebooks, compared to hunting down audiobooks or finding time to read directly
  • Offline access

I used Speechify for over 2 years and it has never worked well offline. My job is in a remote location and has spotty cell service. Voice Dream provides perfect offline operations for my audiobooks. Thanks for making an app that meets my needs.
  • Glitches in Car play

The app started to glitch in Car Play with iOS 18.7.2. It disappeared this morning when it was there last night. It stops every ~5 seconds now. Rebooting iPhone then uninstalled & reconnected to Car Play in a newer vehicle. Still No good!

I bought the original dream reader and paid for voices. Now it wants me to sign up for a subscription to get any voices.
  • They try to force you to login so they can track you even if you paid for a lifetime subscription

Don’t make me go through a bunch of login garbage when I paid for a lifetime subscription! Nothing I hate more than you stupid C’s forcing logins so you could track people. After I paid for the freaking thing.

I downloaded the app and used it for literally 10 minutes. I decided to cancel. It sounded like a robot reading and there were so many mispronounced words. It was very disappointing! I was able to cancel the subscription but only after a year. Money wasted.
  • Not Worth It for Previous Buyers

Users who previously purchased the old version must subscribe again to use this app, so it is not recommended.
