  • Annoying

It’s really annoying that they heavily promote low-quality Goahanger podcasts everywhere in their app. Like Apple and Spotify they should show the best podcast instead of selling out.
  • Switching to Overcast after This flawed and unnecessary redesign

Every UI Overhaul since 2018 has worsened the experience. Requiring users to change default behavior and options, adding additional required clicks (to quickly queue up a list of podcasts simply takes twice as long now, for instance) and other tweaks that all violate a pillar of UI/UX design: minimize redundant user input. And now adding rounded puffy margins, reducing legibility. Just more puffy garbage, and more asking permission to track my usage. Pocket Casts was perfect. The redesigns have been done in poor taste, and I won’t recommend it—based on recent reviews I’m not alone.
  • Smart playlists

The new update gets rid of filters and replaced them with “smart playlists” it makes the app less functional and harder to look at, getting rid of color coding, and adding large mosaic screens that take up the first screen and force scroll down to select podcasts. I will be looking for a different app to use again.

I'm totally in love with this app. The clean interface and the easy navigation helped me listen to more podcasts than ever before. Highly recommended!!
  • Not accessible

Text size is tiny and cannot be resized. Unacceptable.

I love this app. Not a fan of the changes with 8 though. New releases have been made worse in my opinion. Previous was simple and worked well.
  • Great podcast app!

Tried several including the Apple one and this one is my favorite. Free and easy to use.
  • Calling things “playlists” is fine, but taking up half the screen with podcast art at the top is not

I know you spent a lot of time on this version and will be sad if your most requested new feature is a toggle to turn off the art at the top of every list, but it is such a huge waste of space. It makes no sense and is frustrating every time I look at it. The whole (failed) iOS 26 redesign is supposed to be about getting out of the way of content… all I want to see is a list of unplayed podcasts so get outta the way!
  • Excellent and cross platform

I love that I can use Pocket Casts across my iPhone, Mac and Windows machines and they’re all in sync. Love the organization options and playlist filtering.
