  • Update. Don't just stay away, RUN Away from this app.

    Update: After 2 days I finally reciecved reply from the company. Recommended deleting and redownloading app. Did this. Now will work most of time (still a few pauses but much rarer) while screen open on app. If screen goes dark or changes will stop within 3o seconds or so. Still waiting for help for this to see if this is normal or not,. Got this app for reading Kindle in car. It frequently has inappropriate pauses as though there is a comma or period when there isn't. This is annoying but tolerable. The real issue is it will only play 1/2 to 1 page before stopping, requiring hitting the play/pause button 1-2 times. Trying to get help for the problem has been nonexistent. Basically the only help says to check a couple of boxes in setting, then if doesn't work contact Apple, as though it is a phone problem, not the apps fault. I tried the in app help chat and got a response of it will be 12 hours or so for an answer. I somehow got subscribed during my trial period and am stuck with a years subscription. Don't have to tell you there was no help from the app for that. Definitely sorry I ever saw this app.

  • Mac version is useless

    The Mac version of this app is missing paid features, like custom voices and access to kindle library. Things that you can do in the browser, or the iPhone version. So if you are using a Mac just install the iPhone version or use this in a browser. Edge has an extension that works on Mac as well.

    I signed up for a free trial of Speechify, thinking it might be a good fit, but honestly, it really wasn’t. The voices were stiff and selection limited, and instead of being able to just highlight text on my computer and have it read aloud (like I expected), I had to manually copy and paste everything into the app. Not exactly user-friendly. What really got me, though, is that I didn’t get any kind of heads-up before the trial ended. No email, no notification—nothing. Then suddenly I get hit with a $139.99 charge? For an app I didn’t even end up using? That’s wild. And now I can’t even get a refund. It feels super misleading. If you're going to charge that much for a subscription, the least you could do is remind people before billing them. Especially when the product doesn’t deliver. Definitely not a great experience.

    Speechify is a game changer for me! I am finally able to more easily read and digest an immense amount of content with less mental fatigue and far greater comprehension. Highly recommended for anyone. Especially if you struggle with ADHD and/or dyslexia.

    I love this app as I’m a slow reader. This app helps me listen to text at an accelerated rate helping me get mass amounts of work done quickly and accurately.

  • Focus with Audio

    This app is great for the learner who has a hard time focusing on reading any document, books, etc. Rather a pdf, word document, etc., it is easy to transfer the file into the app and have cloud access to this service. Use it as if you’re listening to music in your car, at home doing chores, or sitting with your laptop annotating. A bit pricey, but the return on investment as a tool is of great quality.

  • Such a horrible experience

    First, the auto-purchase system where the trial just flips to a purchase is awful. If you are confident in your product, you don’t do that. But now that I have it I fully understand why they do this. The user experience is horrible. No matter where I try and use it they want me to upgrade. Since I’m worried they will simply bill me again for a new instance, it is challenging. Then when you load the chrome extension, it doesn’t work, and suggests work arounds, which also don’t work. Terrible company.
