  • Extremely difficult to cancel subscriptions

    I tried to canceled the free trial but wasn’t able to. Not from the app, not from the website, not from settings on my Apple ID, and not even from my desktop. They almost charged me 140 dollars because of this but I froze my debit card. I was only able to cancel it after I contacted help and they canceled it for me. DONT GET THIS APP

    I’m on their free tier since I couldn’t afford their premium, and even though I only have 3 documents on their system it still believes I maxed out my limit of 5 documents. Egregious and terrible “free” service.

    I'm primarily using this application on an iPhone.It would be great if it could incorporate background playback when the screen is locked. I'd also like to see changes to the podcast education feature.

    Introduction to long and wasting my time and i have things to do , so i uninstalled it. Why is there no skip button we don’t care about your life story or anyone else we just want to use the product or at less give options to skip

  • Convenient when it works

    It’s a convenient way to listen to epub and pdf files…when it works. It tends to get stuck(pause) and not read any longer after a certain amount of time or (this is just a guess) if the file is too large. Though with the most recent update this has somewhat decreased. I had to adjust the voice I use because of the premium word limit. Which is pretty much garbage considering how much a yearly subscription is. That should be unlimited. **One of the most recent updates makes it so you can’t change the font on epubs. Not a huge problem but annoying. Something that I’m not a fan of AT ALL is I can’t drag my finger across the time bar to change where I’m at, I can only use the chapter index and scroll. This most recent update is my least favorite so far. The pausing is happening more often and the app will just stop playing and restart. Then when you open it sometimes it just keeps loading but won’t play. The continue listening section is only showing up sometimes. Epubs are having issues following the text; it’ll show what it’s reading in a tiny bubble but won’t bring the document visual down so you can see it in real time. I’ll update the review dependent on future updates.

    Well, I was hoping that when I snapped a photo and imported it, it would just automatically pull up the entire novel where I can hear it. But the only thing it did was snap the first photo of the cover read it to me, but that’s it. It does not import. It does not read it to you. It just reached the first title and the cover of the picture you took it doesn’t do anything else. I was hoping that it would automatically once you snap the photo of the book. It was just automatically pull it up and you could just. Hear it. But it is good if you wanna spend at least 30 minutes taking pictures of a novel that has over 200 pages then they go for it. Keep this app otherwise I’m deleting it and canceling my subscription. I appreciate the three day trial though.
