Great idea - poor execution. The app just opens the browser and sends you to a dead/inactive link.

Newly downloaded this to be seen online. It won’t log in at all. Just keeps saying no server.

I have been loving telehealth/telemedicine. I am socially awkward and anxious so it’s a blessing to connect with doctors from home. I have tried so many doctor apps over the years such as PlushCare, Dr on Demand, HealthTap, MDLive, TelaDoc, 98point6 and LiveHealth online. UHC doctor chat stands out because it’s a text based visit. It’s what I loved about 98point6 before they revamped or something. One of the problems with UHC is that it starts from an app then takes you over to internet browser (Safari for me). I highly advise you use the desktop for best experience. It’s easier to navigate on a desktop so now I open the website from there. However, the doctor sometimes needs to do a quick video call so I have to go back into my phone since my desktop doesn’t have a camera. The problem with switching over to safari is that we don’t get notified when the doctor writes a message. I do get notifications/alerts on desktop though. There are some drawbacks/negatives with this app but I love how quickly I connect to a doctor compared to my last insurance that used LiveHealth Online. MDLive was even worse (at least for my state it was). This is my first time with United Healthcare and I am happy I made the switch. I know the app has its inconveniences but the positives for me outweighs the troubles. The positives: (1) connect to doctor quickly. (2) text based consultation. (3) refilled my scripts.
  • Won’t let me use the app

When I open the app it tells me to sign in using the portal. I click the button and opens safari and I sign in on the web but just directs me to my account page. Can’t find anywhere to talk to a Dr on the website and when I go back to the app it tells me to sign in using the portal and the same thing happens over and over.
  • Somewhat unnecessary

This isn’t a particularly useful app.. it’s literally just a link to open the landing page on your browser.. I’m not really sure why it exists to be honest..? With that being said, I’m rating 3 stars because I love the actual UCH doctor chat service it’s self and have used doctor chat on a couple of occasions with fabulous results. Each time I have had the pleasure of seeing very kind, thorough and knowledgeable providers and gotten my issue resolved in an unbeatable time. Just wish the app actually had the expected substance and functionality.

Everytime I click “sign in” on the app it redirects me to the web browser Safari. When I log in and chat, all the notifications go through the app although the app isn’t letting me sign into it. I’m not wanting to use safari. I’m wanting to use the app! Please fix this issue!

    1. If it’s only for a small number of states list them up front in the App Store description. 2. After downloading it showed me a support chat but said support is offline. 3. You have to make a totally separate account with separate credentials from the rest of UHC (dumb, and bad for security). 4. You don’t find out your state isn’t supported until after you download and make a new account.
