Description

Get fit and compete with friends, family & coworkers with the Challenges app. ‘Cause everybody needs a little healthy competition. -- How It Works -- Getting started with Challenges is easy. Join a team challenge and aim to complete your Stand, Move, and Exercise rings. Whether you get there by shakin’ it to Queen Bey or taking the furthest spot in the parking lot, it’s up to you. Keep tabs on your progress via Apple Watch, the Challenges App, or the Health app. Watch in real time as your teammates get closer to closing their rings - they’re cheering you on to do the same! -- Achievements -- The more you move, the more you’re rewarded. Stack up your points to earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals. Go for the gold! Check progress on your next medal Bask in the glow of medals you’ve racked up from all of your Challenges -- Nudges -- What gets you stepping better than your L.A. Lights sneakers from the 90s? Accountability. Spark a little friendly banter to fuel your fitness flame. Get and send nudges from your teammates (Tell Dan from the second floor to start taking the stairs if he’s reppin’ your team Mission-Fitpossible) Comment on the challenge wall to share tips or coordinate a workout Invite a friend to join your team, via email or text (Emojis 100% acceptable) -- On The Watch -- Pump yourself up wherever you go with just a glance at your wrist. Check in on team ranking See when you’re closing in on an achievement Compare your daily average so you can gauge your progress. Get notified when someone nudges you Get pinged when one of your teammates is rocking it. “Dan just closed all three rings!” Boom, send back applause hands. Somebody’s been snubbing the elevator. Get your watch charged, your team amped, and your sneakers ready, ‘cause you’ve got a challenge to win. Challenges integrates with the Health App on your iPhone to retrieve the data it uses to determine by how much you've just beaten all your friends. Because of our integration with the Health App, this also means we leverage the powerful HealthKit API to make your user experience and user interface the best possible. Enjoy!

  • Functional but Not Pretty

I love the functionality of this app, the Apple Watch integrations, and how I use it. However, I am frustrated by the clunky UX and that almost every time I open this app I have to log back in. Please keep me signed in.

Terrible user experience. There is no way to open up a service ticket when you’re having an issue signing up for a challenge. Your only option is to ask the bot questions.
  • More features!

I would like to propose two enhancements that could significantly improve the user experience: 1. Rest Days - “Rest Day Freeze” Mechanism: The current structure does not accommodate rest days. I suggest implementing a “Rest Day Freeze” feature, where after a certain number of consecutive active days, users earn the option to take a rest day without penalty. During this rest day, users would receive their average daily points, maintaining their standing in the competition. This approach would allow users to prioritize recovery without the fear of losing progress. 2. In-App Communication Tools: Currently, the app lacks a direct communication channel among users.
  • Great app for group challenges

I love that this app incorporates move calories, exercise minutes, stand minutes, etc. if you choose the Apple Watch rings option. Most other fitness challenge apps make you choose to compete in just one, like only a step challenge or only a move calories challenge. My friends and I use it to stay motivated and healthy. Some suggestions - when setting up the challenge, allow an option for a set number of rest days. Say for example, the person who created the challenges chooses 2 rest days, so everyone competing must list a day as a “rest day” twice, which means no points awarded that day. I think this would help prevent people getting burnt out and quitting on long term challenges if this was an option that could be built in when creating a challenge. Also, I think the maximum daily points should be higher and be a clear even number like 100. Having a max of 98 points each day makes the math unnecessarily more difficult.
  • Rest days

I started using this with my coworkers as part of a weight loss challenge and it's great for keeping everyone motivated. I saw that there are allowed rest days at the end of the challenge, but it would be so much better to have an alloted number of rest days that people can chose to use when they need them depending on their schedules. It's ridiculous trying to get all points every single day for weeks and makes people much more prone to quitting.
  • Doesn’t sync with Apps

Today I had 20,030 steps with Garmin, Stridekick and Apple Health apps, but the Challenges app shows only 13,400. Everyday is an inaccurate count and I’m constantly shorted, why?
  • So slow to update

I love the concept of this app but I have to go into my challenge, refresh, go back out of it and wait to hope it updates. And then it only does it sometimes. Very frustrating!!
  • Frustrating

Frustrating that this app does not add points properly. When contacting customers service, they do not respond until 2-3 days with no help. You feel proud to achieve your goals everyday and feel deflated that it is not syncing or updating points at all. Useless.
