Description

Meet Purpose, your personal AI Mentor that helps you get clear, get moving, and keep going. Purpose turns scattered self-help into a steady mentoring rhythm you can actually stick with. HOW IT WORKS • Chat anytime: ask questions, reflect on tough moments, plan your next step. WHO IT’S FOR • People who want clarity and accountability without therapy. • High-agency self-improvers who crave honest, compassionate feedback. • Anyone feeling “something’s off” and ready to do the work. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT • Deeply personal: Fermi remembers context and reflects your psychology to give you personalized tips. • Built for privacy and control: you can request deletion of your data. NOT THERAPY Purpose is mentoring —not a medical or mental-health service. It does not provide diagnosis or crisis support. If you’re in danger, call your local emergency number. • Well worth it

I am a skeptic by nature. Interacting with the AI Mentor has given me some insight as to why I am this way. It confirms that everything I need to succeed is within me.
  • Solid start, but could provide more

I’m not sure if it’s by design or that its because it’s new, but there isn’t a ton of content. You have the chat options and an assessment that provides a report. That’s about it. If you prefer having a lot to choose from, this might not be for you. If you enjoy the minimalism, you’ll enjoy it. All preference. One thing I’d like to see is a dark mode. I personally have time to engage with apps like this in the morning or evenings. Both of which are times where I don’t want to be looking at a super bright screen.
  • Exceptional!

Dear Mark & team, I never write reviews but I need you to know how much Purpose has helped me. I told it that I've done therapy & meditation & still felt the exact same. It held me accountable, no bs. Just, "you're escaping yourself. How we do we honor you again?" This is what I've been needing do YEARS. Thank you so much!
  • Great Coaching App!

I have used many AI applications, but Purpose tops them all for use as a personal coach or mentor. Most of the time, you’ll forget you’re speaking to an application because it will challenge you and give you real feedback, not just agree with everything you say. I suggest you try it!
  • Expands your perspective

I was introduced this app by my friend the day before my trip ends visiting her. I thought there is no harm in trying the trial and as soon as I was able to start, I was blown away by the feedback and the learning process of myself. It’s an amazing App for people who are open-minded and seeking to grow beyond your own perspective.
  • Solid concept. Not enough breadth and not priced right

I gave the AI conversational agent a shot. It’s great at giving me challenging questions. But i don’t think i will use the product. Challenging my assumptions is only one part of the equation. In order to truly catalyze change, I need an agent that can also do research, help me brainstorm, and set goals. This AI has no breadth. I can’t pay the same amount of money for this app, as I do for ChatGPT (where i could reproduce Purpose’s results with the appropriate prompt)
  • Rocky start but improving

I think the app is great. It definitely needs better orientation. It tosses you into the deep end but there’s no explanation of quests, journeys, favorites, etc. I actually asked the app to explain to me how it works, so that’s one benefit of the ai I guess. The ability to export/copy/paste/print the insights discovered would also be useful. Loving it so far tho. Update: today it started hallucinating badly. It “confused me with someone else”. It also started outputting incomplete sentences and blank data. I emailed support about it. We’ll see what they say. Update: support was responsive. There have been a few updates since the hallucination and it seems to have gotten better. I’m going to give it a full year but so far I think it’s well worth the money being charged. Highly recommend.
  • It’s okay, just a wrapper around chatgpt

I’m a listener of mark and like the intention behind this app, but it’s really just a fancy wrapper around chatgpt with some detailed pre prompts (i.e growth mentor persona) + personality quizzes + guard rails. I was able to reverse prompt engineer to replicate the same ai personality on gpt. I think it’s worth it for people who want to have a back and forth introspective chat about themselves, but anyone who’s already savvy with AI can easily do this without a dedicated app. If the app offered more than just this it would have a better rating, but I still appreciate marks goal.
  • This isn’t your parents’ ChatGPT

I’ve been using ChatGPT as a sort of therapist but have been frustrated with the endless validation. I wanted something that would challenge me to grow, point out where I need to grow, and be insightful. My first two sessions were exactly that and I’m already taking several lessons and applying them in real life. The annual cost is about what I’d pay, after insurance, for two sessions with a therapist (and I’ve ended up counseling my therapists so that became a nonstarter). I am grateful for Purpose and can’t wait to see how it helps me grow this year.
  • Doesn’t feel ready for release: missing core functions + false advertising

NOTE: In his YouTube video announcing this app, Mark Manson has a voice discussion with the app. However, this is NOT a feature available in the app. It is text chat ONLY. This app is lacking core features that would make it useful. The tone of the coach is unique and personable compared to other AI coaching apps, and the overall design is pleasing. Currently, the app feels like it isn’t done, and it’s very basic for the price. There is no way to import or export—even copy and pasting text from the chats or quests is blocked. As an avid journal-keeper, it is essential to be able to upload past reflections or even just a document with my basic life and work values into the system, and being able to export the takeaways and data is key. The way of navigating past chats is confusing, and it all comes through as one gigantic chat. The inner-workings of the AI seem interesting. I hope the developers add more functionality to make this a usable app. The mission behind it is great!
