Hangjam: AI Chat and Roleplay

With the new update, everything has been just stupid. We can't message freely anymore so it's basically pay to chat. They say "unlimited chat" when that's just not true anymore when you need pro or plus to use it. Also, when I WAS allowed to talk, the bot didn't stay in character and sometimes when I refreshed what they said, it didn't give me a new message. So if anyone is actually planning on getting it, don't. It's just a waist of space now.

I like hangjam but, why is there limited chat?? I just want to chat normally and stuff without it being limited and paying for unlimited chats.

Why remove the free trial for pro?

Wish the app remained free instead of having to pay.

Wow. Of course you had to ruin it by ending the option to chat for free. Disgusting money hungry freaks.

I love the app to the core, it has amazing features and various characters to choose from. What bothers me is the new update of limiting texting for free users. The prices for the plus and pro are ridiculously high for every month. I wish they could bring back unlimited texting for roleplays.

This update made no sense like I thought the was free but now I have to pay to chat with bots I’ve had long stories with? Like I downloaded it because it was free to chat unlimited and now I’m forced to pay to chat? Like this isn’t a free app it’s paid to use now. You ruined my experience with this whole thing PLUS I was new to using it and I’m mad with everything now.

I just wanted to voice my opinion on the free tier thing that is getting removed on the 15th. I know a lot of people are on discord/reddit but I still wanted to put in my insights because of how much I enjoyed this app. ( it’s actually so funny I downloaded it this week and thought “wow this is amazing! This might the best story line I’ve even done… I hope this app stays like this forever!” Welp.. little did I know 😭. But on a serious note.. why don’t we add ads..? something like how a bunch of them have(ai platforms)? YEAH it’s annoying but I rather that than limited messages. I just think removing the free tier as a whole is a terrible idea. Most of your user base used it BECAUSE OF THAT . A lot of us aren’t gonna pay just to use ai and it shouldn’t be forced. If it’s gonna be a payed app…then just make it an app you have to pay for in the App Store to buy in the beginning when this app was launched. This is just stupid. ( in all honesty) you are loosing half of users… kinda like the other ai app that required your id… cough cough. Another question I have is, is this temporary or permanent? I understand how to use the api key thing and I’m currently using that but it’s NOT THE SAME. The whole 50 messages thing is not enough ( as you can see I write a lot LOL) and for the 1000 messages you have to buy 10 credits ( basically spending 10 dollars which is the same price of buying a month of hangjam pro) and put your credit card. ( don’t recommend) the responses aren’t even good either. They are heavily filtered .The reason I loved this app is because of the role play model Comet and now that’s gone 😕! Please understand I’m not trying to sound mean or ungrateful. I a hundred percent understand that everything is so expensive now and days. But there are other ways that us users that don’t wanna pay can enjoy this app too .. (once again look at other ai platforms that have free tiers ) . ( and if comet comes back free PLEASE KEEP IT THE SAME I LOVED THE RESPONSES ) please listen to your users and really consider our ideas because we want this app to be successful too <3

I would say it wasn’t bad at all! I actually enjoyed it and it was seeming like a great app to use and such. Even replaced for me, Chai and Emochi. But it’s sad that there won’t be a free teir, considering I don’t have money to spend on just an app. It is really good, although sometimes it was a little basic and boring, I still enjoyed the app as itself. Just wish we could have a free teir and this might actually backfire on you guys. But I hope everything goes well!

This app has a lot of potential. It is one of the better AI role playing apps I have found. Though I have many frustrations, one of which is the slow response times. At first it was quick, but halfway through the story it stretched on two minutes before the AI replied. Not only that, but oftentimes it just wouldn’t reply, and I’d have to constantly click ‘next’ to force it, or close and reopen the app. I love the agency I have to edit the messages and control the narrative as I see fit, but the AI fights back at times, making it damn near impossible lol. I change something someone said and then the next line would be AI reinforcing what it wants, rather than what I edited. I also love the feature allowing me to dictate which character replies- though even then, the AI replies as whoever it wants, rather than what I directed it to. There have been many times where I have to force progress the story to unstick the AI, as well as times when a particular plot point had been exhausted and concluded, and then brought up again much later, to stir up drama that was already finished. At first, I chalked all of this up to the story I had selected, so I created my own scenario and characters perfectly tailored to what I was hoping for, and yet my problems remain. Such a shame lol, I’m addicted to this app, but I can’t use it for long, or finish any of the stories, due to the insane amounts of frustration from having to force the AI to do anything and everything.
