Description

The ultimate system monitor, seamlessly integrated into your menubar. iStat Menus covers a huge range of stats, including CPU, GPU, memory, network usage, disk usage, time, battery, weather and more. iStat Menus 7 is a full reboot, sporting an all-new design with hundreds of big and small improvements. iStat Menus is unmatched in efficiency, and is the most CPU-friendly system monitoring app. • CPU and GPU • Highly detailed CPU info, with current usage for individual cores, history graphs, load averages, uptime, CPU frequency, and a list of the apps using the most CPU. Efficiency and performance cores can be styled differently. Plus, GPU processor, memory, temperature, and frequency on supported Macs. • Weather • Requires a paid weather subscription • Quickly glance at current conditions in your menu bar, or dive into an incredibly detailed hourly forecast and weekly weather overview, covering low and high temperature, wind speed and direction, chance of rain, humidity, dew point, UV index, pressure, visibility and more. • Memory • Extensive memory stats covering usage, history, memory pressure, compressed memory, swap, and a list of the apps using the most memory. • Rules • iStat Menus can notify you of an incredibly wide range of events, based on CPU, GPU, memory, disks, network, sensors, battery, power and weather. This lets you be notified when your public IP has changed, if your internet connection is down, if CPU usage is above 60% for more than 10 seconds, if disk space is low, or a near-infinite range of other options. • Disk usage and activity • See used space, free space, and disk activity in your menu bar. S.M.A.R.T. status monitoring, per app disk usage, and more detail for all your disks is only a click away. • Network • Keep on top of what’s being sent and received for all network connections with history graphs, current bandwidth usage, and a bandwidth breakdown for the top apps, as well as detailed connection info, bandwidth graphs, public and private IP addresses, and an internet connectivity indicator. • Battery and power • Detailed info on your battery’s current state and a highly configurable menu item that can change if you’re draining, charging, or completely charged. Plus, battery levels for Bluetooth devices. • Sensors • A realtime listing of the sensors in your Mac, including temperatures, hard drive temperatures (where supported), fans, CPU frequency, GPU frequency (where supported), voltages, current and power. Fan speeds can be controlled, and even switched or gradually ramped based on temperatures and battery state. • Date and time • Highly customisable menu bar clocks, a calendar with upcoming events, and world clocks with detailed sun and moon info. Each world clock can have a custom name, to make it easier to see the time for coworkers or family members. • Combined • Combined mode combines multiple iStat Menus items into a single menu bar item. You can choose what’s shown in the menu bar and what’s shown in the menu, allowing you to save space in the menu bar while still having access to all the information. It’s super handy on laptops. I love how it integrates with Tahoe and is a lot easier to navigate. It’s not expensive so I didn’t mind the for-cost upgrade to iStat 7; however, I think it should have been more clearly communicated to users of the former versions.
  • Buggy, poor development release cycle

Have used this for years for a long time, seems each newer version gets more buggy, and longer periods of time between fix releases. Tried to contact developer months ago about the bugs, they told me a new version would be released to address it via App Store, and still no fix. Major OS upgrades land before iStat gets a bug fix.
  • This app is a virus

Not only did the app not work as the docs said it would, but trying to remove this app from my computer has been an absolute nightmare. I still haven't successfully removed it. Everytime I restart, it still pops up in my top bar
  • Bugs, no updates, Developer doesn’t care

I have experienced various bugs. I have contacted the developer, but they do not respond, and they never to seem fix anything or update the app. How has this app gone 1 year without an update? We are now at macOS Tahoe, and still no update. The developer does not respond to support requests, questions, or feedback. Complete waste of money imo. My advice is to stay away from this app. I regret paying for it.

Import/Export settings menu does not work. Request Bluetooth Access not working. Date/Calendar search and add different timezones/cities not working. Those are major bugs I noticed. Other than that, app works fine, but I wish I could get refund since I have iState Menus 6 license and that one works fine.

3 stars until import/export works again, otherwise things mostly still work. it looks very pretty, and seems to work to do all the other normal things, im just not going to re-set everything up by hand on my machines so…import/export is kind of critical here. please fix. I see 7.1 is available for non appstore users…pushed out in February…why is the app store version so far behind?

I’ve not seen the same issues others have, but inevitably, the battery icon on the status bar will shift upwards randomly, requiring me to kill the app to fix it. As others have mentioned, I’ve not seen any issues like this in all my years of using istat. Please help!
