    I ended up biting the bullet and purchasing the ultra service, but it didn’t take effect and I’ve gotten no response from support. The technical feedback button on the app doesn’t work. This doesn’t seem like a company that has their act together at all, and I’m already really disappointed with the Ultra service. I would use Natural Reader for now instead. I will try to get a refund. 24 hours later, still nothing from eleven labs or their support. This is not a company you can trust EDIT: took like five days for them to respond. Go give your money to a company that cares about its customers

    At first I was sad that such a wonderful and free app got locked behind a paywall. However, my sadness was short-lived as I understand noting is actually free and this company DESERVES compensation for their wonderful serviceS! …and then I saw the subscription prices and my short-lived sadness was replaced with anger. The prices were outrageous and made this app unaffordable for lower-income book lovers who like to read a lot. Then the app was suddenly free again while they reworked the plans and a few weeks later a new, much more affordable, subscription plan came out. I especially appreciate the unlimited monthly tier so you don’t have to worry about minutes and you only have to pay when you are on a book reading binge! Some months I’m in a slump or too busy and don’t read at all. Please keep the prices reasonable, always have an unlimited tier, and keep up the good work! This truly is the best book-to-speech app out there and does miracles for those who love to read but have challenging disabilities that make it difficult. In addition, so many books (especially indie and self-published books) don’t have an audiobook version so this not only helps those with disabilities but also helps indie and self-published authors as well. Thank you for listening to feedback and thank you for this wonderful app! <3

    I used this app specifically because it was free and sounded decent. I understand there is a cost for keeping an app like this running, however paying for a limited number of hours is honestly going to drive most people who used this app away. I was listening to stuff at work so that is up to 8+ hours a day. I will keep using it if there is an “unlimited hours” option for a reasonable price, but for now I’m going to just find another tts app rip.

    I can understand that operating at such a loss was not feasible forever, but to have allowed unlimited reading for free only to lock that baseline service behind the highest payment tier—over 200 USD a year, at that—is criminal. Ludicrous. For such a high quality service, one I have used every single day for months and months, I probably would have been willing to purchase one of the low tiers which are (somewhat) reasonably priced. But for not just the generative podcasts and uploads etc but even baseline LISTENING to be locked at the high tier? Forget it, you’ve lost me. Incredibly disappointed.

    I fell in love with this app while it was free, and happily would have ponied up to pay for it, but for $10 a month to only get you a limit of 30 hours? Absurd.

    I greatly prefer this to Audible - I have the ultra subscription and listen to all sorts of things in upwards of 10 hours a day

    I would regularly use this app without many issues. Since the update, I get a lot more importing errors and instead of pulling up the article, I have to find it buried away within the app. Additionally, they basically took away the free use of this app only giving a handful of credits to use now. I get building a subscription model but good customer service would grandfather in existing original users or giving them a good deal. Seems like this app is in decline sadly.

    It’s really the best why does speechify have so many users when it sounds robotic when compared to this one with real and smooth sounding voices . The only thing that they could improve on is being able to use it offline when not connected to the internet

    Was way better than any of the competitors by far. Then they did an update. All the sudden the voices are Janky. And now you “run out”? I only kept it long enough. To leave this review. Now it’s absolute trash
