The Debre Tabor Medhani-Alem Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church of Los Angeles, California was organized and incorporated as a religious corporation within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, on February 05, 1996. For its canonical, ecumenical, liturgical and religious foundation it draws its origin from the ancient Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church, whose Synod is seated in Asmara Eritrea. The Medhani-Alem church was established to serve Eritrean-Americans with their religious and cultural needs and to help them ease the transfer of their lives to the new and fast moving environment here in America. Its purpose is to help its members raise their children as God fearing citizens, to create harmony amongst them, and to facilitate their religious and cultural needs so they can live in peace with their neighbors. The church has liturgical services every Sunday, and on Saints days as prescribed by the Orthodox Tewahedo Church of Eritrea. Sunday Services are from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM. The church also provides Bible Study programs for the young every Sunday. Our priests are Father Teklehaimanot Kiflezghi, who has been serving since the church's inception. Members of the Medhani-Alem Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church of Los Angeles, California own the buildings and compound on 8808 S. Western Ave. in Los Angeles, CA and the property is fully paid off and has no Mortgage loans. Sunday and other services such as baptism are provided at this location. All the funds for procuring the building and its compound, and all expenditures for its renovation were fully paid by its members. May our Lord Jesus Christ protect all of us.
