As having not played any of the other games in the series (if there even are any) this game is looking pretty good! The music is really good! Like VERY good. The music reminded me of paper Mario origami king! If you like this music go play that game Oh also the controls are a bit jank, but keep playing and you’ll get used to it (I did) Oh wait now theres a random person singing in the back this ain’t paper Mario! Ok the tutorial music sounded like it tho
  • Controls are awful

I was hoping it would be more fun to just roll the ball around and pick up stuff, but the controls just get in the way massively. There are 4 control layouts and somehow none of them just let you swipe left to turn left. Instead you get up = left and down = right for all 4 layouts. Insanely unintuitive.
  • Love it :D

It's a whole new full-size katamari game with awesome and apparently 100% all-new stages ... What's not to love? :) It's great. ... edit: Cool! It looks like they've got Simple touch controls working pretty well now. :) Thank you.
  • I love the series, but the touch screen controls are horrible

I’ve played the original PS2 game, a PSP sequel, and a Switch remaster and loved all of them. I was stoked to play a new one, but it feels like a constant struggle with the touchscreen controls. Getting more than one star in some later levels (one to three stars is their level scoring system) feels virtually impossible, and I feel like playing with a proper controller could change my review of the game from 3 to 5 stars, but I don’t have a Backbone or whatever. I love the live-streaming angle for the ”story”. It’s quirky and fits well.

When I saw the game, I thought it looked interesting but also like it was for little kids. I somehow had never heard of Katamari before. Something about it called to me and after a couple of days of debating, I downloaded it. I have zero regrets! The story line is fun, the graphics engaging, the gameplay…chef’s kiss. I don’t care about followers irl but now I NEED to add to my follower count, for the King. I didn’t expect such challenging objectives but I am obsessed with achieving them. My Achilles Heel is completing collections in a game. I can’t resist. I must complete all of them and especially finding all our cousins! My goodness, our cousins are the cutest!! I live to see the new names of planets and satellites. There is so much more that I haven’t even touched on. The options for control settings are there for just about any kind of configuration you could want. I started playing on my phone but moved to playing on my iPad Pro and the game looks amazing. If you aren’t sure about if this is the game for you, please try it. Especially if you have no idea what Katamari are. This game is an absolute delight!!!

Ahh, this takes me back to my high school days. Just rolling around with no bills to pay and my bestie playing video games during our sleepovers. It really is the same game play, kinda hard on the iPad i will say. But i love it. So glad they brought it back.
  • Buggy game means it's not as fun as it could be

The gameplay is much the same as it was on the PS/2, with some additions that are significantly less fun. It's rather buggy on my system, with the katamari showing up as a spinning black rectangle when the King looks at it after a round. There's even one level that simply does not let you win the level at all, even when you meet the win condition (the eating contest).

I have been a huge fan of Katamari since the beginning. Controller works finally on Apple TV. Ty!
  • It’s Katamari, on your phone!

I was a bit worried when I saw this was a mobile exclusive but this is a fantastic entry to the series, just as fun as any console version. Several control scheme options, plenty of content with more being added, and all that classic Katamari flair. There were some bugs at launch but they’ve been fixed. My one niggle is that grinding for candy for optional unlocks like cousins, gifts, etc is a bit slow (but there are still cousins and gifts in the levels).
  • Katamari Rolling in Space is impossible to get everything

I’ve been retrying the stage over and over to try and get all the stars in that stage but there are some that are to high to reach or are passing through the katamari. Please fix this and make it so nothing gets left behind!
