  • Love but need more options

I love everything about this app other than the lack of options. Most of us who grow food probably also have house plants but they don’t have most house plants as an option on this app. I don’t want several apps for different plants.

  • Planting dates & sqft spacing are all over the place

Don’t trust the planting dates - the app lists many months as OK to plant for some veggies (ie: March-July) - but then when you click into the details, it may only be suitable for planting in May. Which dates do I trust? If that piece isn’t clear, there’s no way the rest of the info can be trusted. On what seems a very handy square foot planting guide - the planner doesn’t take into account that some plants (melons, squash, etc) will take up many square feet. The app allows you to put those giant plants into on square foot on top of each other. Would be easy enough to block out the squares nearby or to suggest something like beets/carrots, radish to go underneath… a big fail for me. Can’t trust the rest of the advice with these two snafus.
  • The Reminders

I’ve noticed that when I check my reminders, (daily) it wouldn’t tell me to water certain plants on days that I know they should be watered and when I log back on, the dates are red indicating that they weren’t watered when they should have been. So I find myself having to back log the actual date I watered them.

Need to add more vegetables and fruit also on the garden planner section needs to be able to add more vegetables to the planner or add a better search browser so we can’t find the items that you do not have in your category

I am encouraged by the utility of the app on my phone but my family needs access to it to do there chores. Is there a mechanism where I can put this on my computer so the family can utilize it?
  • Almost worth keeping

Great app! If it had the option to design and entire garden with multiple beds, and add a print feature. It would also be great to add any plant we want to the layout, not just the basic types that are listed. We paid for a year, but without these features it’s not worth renewing, because I still have to hand draw the garden with graph paper and make a separate list of plants that are not available in the app.
  • Not easy to use

I’ve been using GrowIt for few months now. There are interesting features to help plan what to grow. I liked the ability to setup a garden area to assign plants and see indicators of companion plant compatibility, but editing the garden is prone to error, and I erased my setup multiple times by accident. There is a large list of plants to browse, but some cannot be added to your garden. Overall, the app is hard to navigate with some features that do not seem fully baked.
  • Just what I was looking for

This is such a great way to get organized and allows careful planning for all stages of vegetables and fruit in all types of containers outdoors or inside. I was trying to keep track in my notes and it was just too much. Not only that it has information on each plant so easily and readily available and bases things on where you live. Couldn’t be better except one small thing. The amazing feature for plot planning is just missing some options for common plants like artichokes, Swiss chard, leeks - some basic items, but you can just use some place holders of closely related plants for the time being. And it only allows for the full year drop down, not by month. Hope there is an update eventually to include these but honestly not a big deal for what is currently offers.
  • Deceitful App page

The app in the store doesn’t mention cost to download or in app purchases. But you only get 7 days free. Makes finding a free app a pain. This needs to be corrected.
