I used Dotloop hoping for a streamlined, honest and reliable transaction-management solution. Instead, what I got was a platform rife with misleading promises and frustrating shortcomings. • Glitches and Data Loss — Numerous users report that Dotloop “wipes out what you do when you type,” or otherwise loses data mid-document, which can completely derail a transaction. • Poor Mobile & Document Handling Experience — The mobile version is often cited as clunky and painful to use: setting up documents on the go “isn’t worth the time,” and many agents find that the app’s glitches make mobile document management unreliable. • Privacy & Ownership Concerns — Because Dotloop is owned by Zillow, several agents worry about data sharing: by using Dotloop, you may inadvertently be giving Zillow access to your contacts, leads, and internal transaction data — effectively “paying Zillow to profit from YOUR leads.” One user summed it up: “Using Dotloop … you’re literally PAYING Zillow to profit from YOUR leads.” • Hidden Costs & Pressure to Upgrade — While Dotloop is pitched as affordable, many users report concerns about pricing transparency, locked-feature paywalls, and additional costs that weren’t clearly communicated upfront. • Lack of Honesty & Accountability — When serious problems occur (such as account deactivations or document-sharing errors), Dotloop doesn’t seem to provide reliable support or accountability. For example, a complaint on record alleges the company “deactivated my account by mistake and did not activate it again and cost me thousands.” Bottom Line: I don’t trust Dotloop anymore. The combination of data-loss issues, poor mobile functionality, hidden costs, and potential privacy risks makes me believe Dotloop is not being upfront with its users. Their marketing promises “efficiency” and “simplicity,” but in practice, the platform has caused more headaches than savings — and exposed my business to real risk.

It’s very hard to use and it lacks many basic functions. Like adding saved people to the loop, fill out contracts is a challenge. It’s horrible

I have used dotloop for years. Since the merger I have noticed decreased effectiveness. I use the upload photo feature on the go and it does not work and crashes after uploading and causes me to restart the process or just simply will not upload. Not a happy customer and it’s effecting my efficiency!
  • Can’t upload photos

Recently I cannot upload photos using the app. Soon as I select the photo and upload it the app immediately crashes and shuts down. Additionally entering a person to a loop will populate their email address if it has been used previously, which used to automatically populated me to the transaction. It no longer uploads the email address

I like how easy it is to use this application on my iPad when I’m on the go. It’s a lifesaver especially for unexpected document needs and your away from your laptop.
