Not only is it slower than doing it yourself. The errors and replacement will slow you down even further. Now the last straw. I made an order, and the facility didn’t even get it. So i lost an hour making an order, just to buy it all myself. Horrible
  • App isn’t bad and super convenient, but shoppers could have more guidelines

The app is very convenient and saves me time from having to go shop myself. I do feel like they could hold their shoppers to a higher standard. I don’t see the point of having a chat option on our end if the shoppers aren’t required to respond. They should also take pics where possible to give other options if your replacement is not in stock. I’ve had shoppers that do and they are amazing and def receive a better tip. This is the second time I’ve had an order where the shopper completely ignores the chat and ends up refunding the item I needed most from the order. Being a woman, I know there are multiple varieties of the item in stock at all times. Should have just gone to the store myself 🙃

Overall the shopping was great however I was not able to respond for a replacement I requested turkey burger evidently it was not available and was replaced with Beef. I do not eat beef. I will not come back to return as this was a Instacart. Good thinking would have been just refund and making celery juice from small celery sticks was not my Plan. So I’ll just be more careful and watch my phone for replacement items.
  • Horrible Service!

The app is trash, the people who deliver are terrible. I haven’t had a order be correct or not containing expired or bad food yet. It’s a waste of time and money and it is such a pain to get refunds. Now I want to delete and have to reinstall the app and delete my account instead being able to do it from my laptop. Trash!

I’ve been using instacart since before the pandemic, and I’m about ready to leave for good. They are becoming increasingly expensive and difficult to contact with problems. I was put on an account review after asking them to handle a delivery that had gone badly awry. I was told to favorite good shoppers to avoid the problem I was having (cold items repeatedly arriving spoiled), but I never had that option on the app. I even shut down my entire account and started over, still no “favorite” option. Now, I can only submit one issue in an order at a time, and the credits aren’t being issued because of “overload.” They think they’re the only show in town but they aren’t — I’m going to Dumpling.
  • Garbish company!

Beware of automatic annual renewals! Very rubbish company! They won’t send you any renewal notice and then charge you! Even if you cancel and ask for a refund a few days after finding out, they won't give it to you! I have automatically renewed my subscription three times, even though I stopped using it two years ago. And even if you contact customer service within a few days of this year’s renewal, they still insist on deducting your entire year’s fee.

I only use this when needed but it’s not even reliable anymore they scam you for most of your money by charging you when you make the order and after u received it. They even take a long time to deliver the items. Your better off going shopping on ur own or having loved ones retrieve groceries for you.
  • Notification abuse

Near perfect app in almost every way but I have push notifications for ads off and you still send me ads. We spend thousands of dollars a year with Instacart. Am I not a valuable enough customer that you need to try to juice me for more revenue? 1) apps shouldn’t send ads over notifications period (see the article from The Verge on “a hard reset for notifications”) 2) apps like Instacart that rely on time-sensitive notifications have an extra responsibility to avoid abuse because it’s not possible use your app with notifications disabled (you’re the problem it’s you) 3) if you’re going to insist on using notifications for ads, make it opt-in 4) if you have notification ads as a default, allow the user to toggle them off 5) if you have notification ads as a default, and you allow the user to toggle them off, why aren’t you honoring that setting?

Please understand when ordering from the app they created their own price even with membership like Costco
