Description

ASA has built a reputation for providing the aviation community with the most accurate and reliable FAR/AIM products available. The FAR/AIM app continues this tradition, containing information from Titles 14 and 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 and 49 CFR) pertinent to pilots, flight instructors, and flight crew, combined with the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and Pilot/Controller Glossary. ASA FAR/AIM app features: • Free Updates provided. • All of the ASA FAR/AIM and FAR for Flight Crew book contents are included: 14 CFR Parts 1, 5, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 39, 43, 48, 61, 63, 65, 67, 68, 71, 73, 89, 91, 97, 103, 105, 107, 110, 117, 119, 120, 121, 125, 133, 135, 136, 137, 141, 142; 49 CFR Parts 172, 175, and 830; TSA 1544 and 1552. • The complete Aeronautical Information Manual including color figures. • Pilot/Controller Glossary included. • Study by Certificate lists for Private, Remote, Sport, Instrument/CFII, Commercial, Flight Instructor, Flight Engineer, and ATP allows aviators to hone their studies to the pertinent rules for their individual certificate and operation. • Text search helps you find what you’re looking for in the FAR, AIM or both. • Profile and Landscape viewing available for easy reading and viewing figures. • Ability to increase text size. ASA tracks FAA changes daily and updates the app when regulations and AIM changes affect pilot operations. The date shown for the app's update reflects the last regulatory change affecting content. A new update will be released when a rule change affects operations. None of the material in this publication supersedes any documents, procedures, or regulations issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). ASA does not claim copyright on any material included herein that was taken from United States government sources; all contents originate from the FAA.

  • Missing LTA part 31

I would absolutely love this app and highly recommend it but as a hot air balloon pilot, it is missing very important parts that I need- if that could be added in ASAP, that would be fantastic
  • Bookmarks have titles now!

This was maybe a 3-star product before the recent update that added section titles to the bookmarks. Now, I am happy to give it 5 stars. Before, if you had 10 bookmarks, you wouldn’t know to look at 91.205 for required equipment unless you already knew what was in 91.205, which made bookmarks pretty much worthless. Now, section titles are listed next to the section numbers, so you can browse for the concept you are trying to find instead of whatever bookmarks did before—collect dust, I guess. This is on the iPhone. Will check my iPad later. Hoping to see it there, too.
  • Good - Could be Great

Good app overall. But I really, really, REALLY wish the updates that were uploaded to the app were listed somewhere so that we were informed on what exactly changed.
  • Not as good as it seems

  • Just barebones

this app doesn't get any love or any updates. It would be nice if the Mac version was to sync with the Ipad verson and all my heighlights would transfer. It would also be nice if I was able to save stuff in folders. Another good feature could be to maybe be able to control the heighlighter more. A night mode too would be great in 2024. Everytime I switch between apps on my IPad the far aim app resets for some reason and takes you back to the homepage. Its a weird bug that can be fixed easily. Too many missing features and bugs.
  • Nice But Needs Massive Improvements

This is nice and I have used it nearly exclusively to paper. But it stands to receive massive improvements. It needs to have bookmarked synchronization across devices, it needs to have bookmark folders that can be customized, it needs WAY better search functions that already exist with AI or Google. The search function is currently useless. Note annotation would be nice too. So all in all I like it for what it is and hate the wasted potential.
  • Content good, app experience moderate

You’re probably better off using an alternative such as from Aeroapps. This app does not highlight search results within the page, which makes it difficult to find key terms in context (even ForeFlight can do that with the built-in AIM). Bookmark and highlight functions exist are clunky to use. There are no hyperlinks at all, meaning you cannot jump from one topic to another. The TOC is only visible collapsed, so you cannot find a topic by perusing the TOC (as you can in the printed edition). Indeed, there is no TOC page, only the navigation menu.
  • Missing Parts!!

Deleting. Moving to another source. Missing Parts such as Part 95 IFR Altitudes. Search function is terrible as mentioned in other reviews.
  • Good but could be great

Let’s make this more than a ebook. Pros: - Convenience of having it on phone or EFB. - Bookmarks - Highlights Cons: - No ability to sync to an account so your FAR/AIM looks the same on every device. Including highlights and bookmarks. - Bookmarks are titled with only the regulation. The title isn’t listed so unless you know regulation numbers by heart you end up clicking through a few to find what you really are looking for. - Sortable highlights and bookmarks so you can better focus your study - Printable pages…I mean really why not have it, I’m going to go to Cornell Law and print it from another public place, as that what this is public rules and regulations. - Perhaps a 9.99/yr subscription (yes I said 9.99 a year) and a dedicated app dev and security team to add some awesome features making this a no brainer for all aviators to subscribe to. There are many more ways that this app could create an aviators FAR/AIM best friend. It starts with thinking outside the physical copy and crushing the digital subscriber option.
  • Why is Part 47 not included?

Would love to see part 47 added as many regulations pertaining to aircraft registration are under this part. Thanks!
